Word Prompt – MOTZEI SHABBOS – Nachum Segal

When I was in elementary school, our choir performed and recorded (on LP) a song called “Everybody Loves Saturday Night.”

To show the universality of that sentiment we sang it in four different languages to boldly display how, in fact, "everyone," of all languages, Jewish cultures and backgrounds, loves Saturday night.

I am amazed at the diverse ways we celebrate Motzei Shabbos and marvel at how many in our community feel the need to make Motzei Shabbos special.

While chassidic groups are partaking in tishes, others are sitting down to a Melave Malka. It could be at home, at a pizza shop, a fancy restaurant or even at a concert or special event, scheduled to enhance a Motzei Shabbos.

This is the time of year when Motzei Shabbos becomes a bigger factor as Saturday nights, starting in November, become much longer.

I hope we all can use those few end-of-week hours to enjoy friends, family, special events and an even greater spiritual connection as only a Motzei Shabbos can provide.
