Arab Media Post Video of 'Innocent Elderly Woman' Aiming Car at IDF

A 72-year-old widow of a terrorist and who almost ran down Israeli soldiers Friday was just a bad woman driver unjustly "executed" and not a terrorist, according to Palestinian Authority media.

A video from a soldier's cam helmet that mysteriously ended up in Arab hands made the rounds on social media Saturday.

The IDF is investigating how the film from a soldier's helmet was obtained.

The video, as seen below, clearly shows that the Hebron woman was driving on an empty street manned by Israeli soldiers who had closed the highway.

There also is no question that the car was veering towards the troops, who quickly got out of the way, and that soldiers aimed their rifles at the driver and shot her, not knowing what she would do next.

Afterwards, it was discovered that the woman, identified as Tharwat al-Sha’arawi, was armed with a commando knife in her handbag.

It also is known that her husband was a terrorist who was killed in the beginning of the Intifada in the late 1980s.

Palestinian Authority medics claimed that the woman simply made a mistake and pointed out that she was driving in heavy rain on the highway, north of Hebron, and where soldiers tried to wave her away.

The video does not bear out a report that she was driving "slowly." She was not speeding but certainly was not crawling, especially when considering it was raining.

Channel 2 television quoted Israeli security sources as saying that al-Sha’arawi has recently said she wanted to attack Israeli soldiers.

And how about the commando knife in her car?

We can expect Arab media to claim that soldiers planted the knife to frame an innocent elderly woman, just like they claimed last month that a 16-year-old who was running towards guards at a checkpoint with a knife actually was just a good little boy trying to pass through the checkpoint.

After all, how can a 72-year-old woman with a commando knife be a terrorist?
