Student groups that literally call for terrorism should not be supplied anything by their universities. They should not be provided a faculty advisor, use of campus space, or subsidy for their activities.
Our objective is to get out in front of these issues and dispel the single-dimensional myths permeating society about Israel’s founding and its ongoing conflict with the Palestinians.
Unlike his predecessor, Trump has not snubbed the Israeli prime minister. He has not required him to sit waiting for him for hours at the White House or forced him to exit from the back door between garbage bags.
Israeli leaders do not share the neoconservatives’ pro-democracy perspective. Israel aims to develop good relations with authoritarian regimes to avoid conflict, and, in the Arab world, Israeli leaders are often more frightened by the prospect of a democratic government led by antagonistic political factions than they are of iron-fisted dictators who prefer to avoid hostilities with Israel.
The simple reality is that it is a dangerous world out there – and not just for Jews. But Jews are particularly vulnerable because we are seen as easy targets. We get picked on because the bullies know we won't fight back.
