At around midnight during a lull in the work, I pulled out Reuven’s salami and started making a sandwich for myself and others. Once people started eating it there were requests for more. Before I knew it, the salami was gone.
As a soldier stationed in Gaza, I had experienced it several times. But as a civilian, with a family, I can tell you, without a doubt, it is an entirely different experience.
