In this week's Torah portion of the week it is written, "and a new king arose in Egypt." So it is today. There's been a regime change in Egypt, in Syria the regime is on the verge of toppling, and the same thing could happen in the Palestinian Authority areas in Judea and Samaria

Anyone who can see clearly knows that Hamas could seize control of the Palestinian Authority. It could happen after a diplomatic arrangement, and it could even occur before, as in Gaza

That's why, contrary to the calls I've been hearing in recent days urging me to push forward, to yield, and to withdraw, I think that a diplomatic process must be managed soberly and responsibly, not in panic or haste. Otherwise, a third Iranian terror base will be established in our nation's heartland. Peace will only come when security is assured.
