An IDF Reserve officer was detained for questioning several weeks ago in Britain on charges of "war crimes" before diplomatic efforts secured his released, according to Yediot Acharonot.

The officer flew to Britain on a private business visit and was held, but not arrested, for several hours before he was released, afar which the British government formally apologized.

Anti-Israeli organizations have been lobbying foreign governments to arrest Israeli army officers and soldiers on charges that they committed war crimes in the counter-terror Operation Protective Edge campaign last year.

The success of the pro-Arab groups to convince authorities to arrest an Israeli soldier may boomerang.

The JewishPress.com has learned that the Israeli government has been acting quietly through diplomatic channels to prevent similar incidents.

Anti-Israel organization obtains the names and pictures of IDF officers from social media, leaving them susceptible to be targeted by anti-Zionists
