British Jews after Manchester

The British Labour Party (roughly the UK’s Democratic Party) recently held its annual conference in Liverpool. An anti-Israel motion was submitted for members to vote on.

This motion passed and demanded that the party accept the infamous UN Commission of Inquiry report, which claimed that “reasonable grounds exist” to find that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.

“Reasonable grounds” would actually demand that this new blood libel be utterly rejected, but then again; this is the UN.

The Labour Government is not bound by this party vote, but as political commentators pointed out, it puts considerable pressure on Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister and his cabinet to accept what the rank and file are demanding.

This vote is simply quite astonishing. It comes only weeks after the UK Parliament’s own “International Development Committee” sent a letter to the British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy which stated, “As per the Genocide Convention, the crime of genocide occurs only where there is specific ‘intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.’ The letter continued, “the British government has not concluded that Israel is acting with that intent.”

This finding, and its stating of the obvious, was a disaster for the Hamas lobby in the Labour Party. The lie about Israel committing genocide has been vociferously gaslighted from the moment the Hamas October 7 mini genocide occurred.

But the Israel genocide slander is an essential component of the “Big Lie” strategy adopted by the antisemitic Left from Australia to California and its war on world Jewry.

In their book. “Propaganda and Persuasion,” Gareth Jowett and Victoria O’Donnell cite Hitler’s six basic principles of propaganda. They are...

*Avoid abstract ideas – appeal to the emotions.

*Constantly repeat just a few ideas.

*Use stereotyped phrases.

*Give only one side of the argument.

*Continuously criticize your opponents.

*Pick out one special "enemy" for particular vilification.

The "Big Lie" Hitler often spoke about argues that a sufficiently large and audacious falsehood, repeated over and over, is more likely to be believed by the general population than a smaller lie.

Hitler believed that people, in their "primitive simplicity of heart," are less likely to question enormous lies, as they wouldn't fathom fabricating such gigantic falsehoods themselves, and so believe they must in fact be true.

You will of course have noticed that all Hitler’s principles fit perfectly with today’s attacks on Israel.

The evidence is so clear and well documented that Israel has not committed genocide in Gaza, and in fact, has gone out of its way to minimize civilian casualties that the Left has to promote the “Big Lie” that it has. That lie has to be repeated often and loudly to get those of, “primitive simplicity of heart" believing it.

So, all those Labour Party members pointed instead to the statements of the United Nations where the ghosts of Hitler and Goebbels truly do walk the corridors. They then scream that their own government and parliament’s findings are wrong. They want and indeed need Israel to have committed genocide. If the facts say they haven’t, they will just have to ignore the facts and repeat the lie often enough for it to become the truth.

In fact, what better place to go to find facts about Jews and Israel twisted and perverted than the UN?

The same phenomenon was on full display on the front page of the New York Times on July 25 of this year.

A picture of an emaciated toddler cradled by his mother, dominated the front page of the New York Times. It quickly became a symbol of the hunger crisis in Gaza.

Many pictures of other skeletal children soon appeared in other Leftist papers and all of the stories alleged it was Israel’s withholding of food that was to blame. That was yet another big lie. Hamas’ stealing of the food Israel allowed in, abetted by the UN, was the cause of the hunger.

The astonishing fact was that all the children, in those pictures, every single one, had pre-existing and emaciating illnesses.

If “famine” was being used as a weapon by Israel against children, why couldn’t the NYT use pictures of actual starving children?

The truth came out, the lie was exposed and then Hitler and Goebbel’s heirs across the media showed they had learned their lessons well, “A sufficiently large and audacious falsehood, repeated frequently is likely to be believed.”

The reason that the Left needs to promote the lie of Israeli genocide is that it absolves Hamas of the guilt of their actual genocide and it justifies their pledge of repeating it. Even more, in promoting that lie, Jews are robbed of any sympathy for what happened to them on October 7 or critically, during the ultimate genocide, the Holocaust.

That last point is in fact the point and the ultimate goal of the Left’s big lie.

You see, no one who conceives and campaigns for the end of the Jewish State, whether openly, as they riot on streets or online, is averse to, a second Holocaust. In fact, they long for it.

Hamas are truly the new Nazis and the apologists and admirers of the new Nazi see a Holocaust as the ultimate realization of their hate.

The governments of Ireland, Spain, France, Australia and Canada fit into that category.

The government of Britain has Neville Chamberlain instead of Winston Churchill as its inspiration. They turn away and wash their hands as Jew hatred metastasizes and takes root throughout every aspect of British society.

That hatred led to the killing of two Jewish men on Yom Kippur in Manchester. The reaction across the UK’s Jewish community from the Chief Rabbi Dr. Mirvis to every Jew interviewed after the terror attack, was the same, “We knew this was going to happen. It was only a question of when and where.”

I know the synagogue, Heaton Park where the killings occurred, well. I have spoken there countless times. I knew both victims and the heroic rabbi who barricaded the door against the terrorist.

The British Prime Minister, fresh from his party's annual conference, issued the usual meaningless cliches about his “horror” at what had happened as well as his determination to protect British Jews.

No one was buying it.

I personally wrote on my social media page that he should not turn up to the scene of the murders as his hypocrisy would make me vomit.

Two of my grandchildren had planned to daven in that shul on Yom Kippur. Fortunately, they intended to go later in the day.

The UK’s Labour Party voted to recognize “Palestine” and reward Hamas, (along with other terrorist appeasers like Canada) just weeks ago.

With members of Starmer’s party voting to ignore the truth and instead demanding he buys into their big lie, the Labour Party’s membership have turned it into the U.K.’s official antisemitic party.

It may be that the new right-wing Reform Party will obliterate both Labour and the Conservatives and confront the cancer of Islamism that they were too afraid to.

With such an uncertain future, I suggest that every British Jew makes sure their passport is up to date.
