Etrog Shopping

October 6, 2014, 6 AM ET

A Jewish man examines a citron, known as an Etrog, for imperfections, preparing to make his purchase in a 'four-species' market in Jerusalem on October 5, 2014.

The Etrog is one of the four species used during rituals in the week-long Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

Sukkot commemorates the Israelites 40 years of wandering in the desert and a decorated hut or Sukkah is built outside religious households and lived in for 7 days (8 days if you're stuck in the Diaspora).
