Meet the IDF's newest APC

The IDF has introduced its newest Armored Personnel Carrier, and it's the first Israeli APC that has wheels instead of tracks, and an 8 wheel drive.

The APC weighs between 30 to 35 tons and has a 750 HP engine.

It can support a 30-40 MM Cannon.

The APC holds up to 12 soldiers and travel at speeds of up to 90 KPH.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense is calling it the most advanced armored wheeled combat vehicle in the world. It is protected by an active defense systems similar to those on the Merkava Mark 4 tank, as well as other unique armor solutions.

It can travel on and off road and between different types of ground environments. It also doesn't need a transport vehicle to take it over long distances.

Production costs are expected to be low.

It is called the "Eitan".
