Israel will host 10 million tourists a year by the end of the decade, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the Second Jerusalem Tourism Conference Wednesday.

"What we're doing in the tourism industry is exciting,” he said. “We've doubled the number of tourists from 1.5 million to three million a year, and we need to double this number and continue growth.

"The first step we did in the government was to adopt the Open Skies policy, and in the budget discussions, we removed the proposal to levy VAT on tourism services. We did this as part of our commitment to tourism and its importance to our economy.”
