Netanyahu Tells US Jewish Leaders Iran Nears ‘Crossing the Line’

Iran has not yet crossed the line Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu drew last September in the United Nations, but “they’re shortening that time is by putting in new, faster centrifuges that cut the time by one third,” the Prime Minister told the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Monday.

“Iran is putting itself in a position to cross the red line and have enough material to produce one nuclear bomb’s worth of highly enriched uranium. This has to be stopped, for the interest of peace and security, for the interest of the entire world,” Netanyahu continued.

He said that Iran has to understand that military action will be taken if it does not halt its unsupervised production of uranium.

“Nothing else will do the job. And it’s getting closer,” according to Prime Minister Netanyahu.

He said that the three major issues challenges facing Israel are the Iranian nuclear threat, Syria’s stockpile of chemical weapons, and the dispute with the Palestinian Authority.

Preparing the ground for President Barack Obama’s visit next month to Israel, Netanyahu reiterated his support of “two states for two peoples – a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes the Jewish state.”
