The voyage is going peacefully A salty tang in the air, But when the storm decides to strike The sailors are unprepared.

“Men at the ready,” the captain shoutsTeens-010314-Liberty “Make all the lines secure, Pray G-d will save from certain death Though we are at its door.”

Screams pierce the Heavens, fear strikes all hearts Last drinks are going ‘round, Dread fills the crew, they grab a raft The ship is going down!

“G-d, have mercy!”  They scream with fear “Our sins we will confess, We’ll ask forgiveness for all we’ve done We beg You S.O.S!

The horn blows out the desperate plea The sound drowned by their wails, The mast is sinking even lower Along with its once glorious sails.

“Abandon ship!”  The bosun screams They jump into the sea, The churning waves push them to and fro The sailors cry and plead.

“G-d, save us from this watery grave To avoid widows’ cries, We beg You for their sakes Please don’t let us die!

We know we won’t last another day A single hour unless, You take us from this icy sea, You hear our S.O.S.”

Some escape the water’s clutches But most sink into the sea, The sailors cling for dear life To pieces of floating debris.

They’ve sent their prayers High Above They hope G-d heard their cries, All that the sailors can do now Is try to stay alive.

The ocean is a frigid place And some cannot stay warm, They desperately try to persevere Throughout the ongoing storm.

The sailors wait with bated breath For how long they cannot guess, They’ll be saved when G-d sends a ship To heed their S.O.S.
