Sirens Sound throughout Israel

On Thursday Israel's Home Front Command and Ministry of Education have begun conducting an exercise of the emergency services in all of the country's 4500 educational institutions. The scenario is of rocket and missile attacks.

Participants include police, ambulance, fire and local authorities. The exercises have begun with a siren that lasted a minute and a half at 10:05 (class break time).

The exercises will test sending HFC SMS warnings to supported mobile phones.
