Terror Groups Planning Violence for the Jewish Holidays, According to Israeli Intelligence

Israel has received intelligence that Palestinian terrorist organizations are planning to launch attacks during the Jewish High Holidays, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.

During a security assessment held by Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, Public Security Minister Omer Bar Lev and Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai, several of these intelligence reports were discussed, according to Kan News.

A senior source present at the meeting said that there were clear indications that terror groups plan to stir up violence at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Jewish and Muslim activists have been told by Israeli authorities to stay away from the site during the holiday, and restraining orders were issued due to concrete intelligence regarding acts that could lead to violence, Kan reported.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins at sunset on September 25 and concludes at dusk on September 27, while Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, lasts from the evening of October 4 to the evening of October 5.
