The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be closed on Sunday, March 15 and Monday, March 16, due to "heightened security concerns," according to a statement issued on the embassy's website on Saturday, March 14.

In addition to the closure of the embassy, the U.S. Consulates located in Jeddah and Dhahran cancelled all consular services for those same two days.

There have already been two other security warning to U.S. citizens in Saudi Arabia this month alone.

On March 7, the U.S. Embassy issued a warning that it was aware of information that as of early March, individuals associated with a terrorist organization would be targeting employees of Chevron in Saudi Arabia for a possible attack.

On Friday, March 13, the embassy issued a warning that "individuals associated with a terrorist organization could be targeting Western oil workers," either for kidnapping or other terrorist purposes.

The embassy's warning cautioned U.S. citizens to be "aware of their surroundings, and take extra precautions when traveling throughout the country."

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited Saudi Arabia on March 5.
