The reason train service between Ashkelon and Sderot continues to be shut down, is due to a 1 kilometer stretch of exposed train tracks which leaves the trains open to attack by anti-tank missiles fired from Gaza.

In May, JewishPress.com discussed a video released from Gaza that showed the Ashkelon-Sderot train being tracked by camera, and well within range of an anti-tank missile.
