When you enter shidduchim, you imagine that you are dating with the goal of building a home and starting a life with someone. You never expect to find yourself back at square one, especially after having already stood under the chuppah.
My life may not be following the timeline I imagined, but that does not mean it is going in the wrong direction.
A well-meaning relative may ask, “So, are you dating anyone?” Another guest might follow up with, “Have you tried this shadchan?” Before long, a simple holiday meal can feel like an interview. While these questions are usually asked with good intentions, they can still be uncomfortable.
