Update: Terrorist Neutralized after Stabbing Soldier at Gush Etzion

A female terrorist was shot and seriously wounded Monday morning after stabbing a soldier at the bus stop at the Gush Etzion Junction, just south of Jerusalem on Monday morning.

The soldier suffered light wounds in the shoulder and refused medical treatment.

Soldiers were stationed at the bus stop, and an eyewitness said that they fired in the air when they spotted her and then shot at her when she lunged at her target.

The 20-year-old female terrorist suffered multiple bullet wounds in her upper body, and was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.

IDF forces also checked a bag she was carrying, suspecting a bomb. Inside they found a second knife.

Arab sources has identified her as Amal Takataka, from the nearby Beit Fajar, and a member of Fatah, the military wing of the PLO. She had an arrest record.

The IDF has set up roadblocks in the area to try to catch the vehicle that transported the Palestinian Authority terrorist.

Davidi Perl, Mayor of Gush Etzion thanked the soldiers from the Kfir unit for their fast response.
