France: Russia's New Syria Draft Resolution Inadequate

France rejected on Monday a new draft resolution submitted by Russia to the UN Security Council on the ongoing unrest in Syria.

A French foreign ministry spokesman described the draft on Monday "very far from the reality of the situation in Syria."

Russia's position is that a condemnation of the Syrian regime's violence must be balanced with as harsh a condemnation of the Syrian opposition's use of violence.
