Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, appointed a new Minister of Internal Security on Monday.

MK Gilad Erdan, the Likud party's number two man, who previously refused to enter Netanyahu's new government without receiving either the Minister of Foreign Affairs portfolio or the Internal Affairs portfolio, is set to be sworn in as the new Minister of Internal Security, Strategic Affairs and Advocacy (Hasbara).

According to reports in the local media, the agreement that brought Erdan into the government will see an expansion of authorities for the Internal Security Ministry and an increase of funding by millions of dollars.
