Re'eh: Jewish Slavery

In this week's parsha, we are given the commandments related to an a Jewish slave. Rabbi Fohrman points out oddities in the text - we give the slave gifts? If he wants to stay, we pierce his ear? - and shows us that the Torah is reminding us of our own national slavery in Egypt.
