Rock-Throwers Are Violent Criminals

In the spirit of great Jewish women like Sarah, Miriam, Deborah, and other ordained prophets, Israel’s Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked is working hard, and making a difference.

One of her first moves in office is fast-tracking the legislative process to increase the penalty for throwing rocks at cars to up to 20 years in prison.

According to the Jerusalem Post, “The legislation is meant to change the current law, which does not differentiate between levels of danger of rock-throwing, pointing out that throwing a large rock at a vehicle has more potential to be deadly than throwing small rocks at stationary soldiers.”

A teenage Mexican was shot multiple times in the back in late 2012 for throwing rocks at the U.S. Border Patrol at the Arizona-Mexico border. After ordering him to stop throwing rocks, when the rocks continued, agents opened fire. American border patrol police, according to NPR are on the record as saying it “considers rock-throwing to be deadly force which sometimes demands the same in response.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu in 1989 said “Shoot rock-throwers to kill.”

As Naftali Bennett said, “Rocks kill… Some people take rock throwing lightly, and prevent action against them. Rock throwers are trying to murder and they need to be treated accordingly.”

When people attack with deadly weapons, they face harsh prison sentences – and authorities shoot them to prevent injury to innocent people.
Those Palestinian Arabs who stone Israelis are violent criminals and must be treated as such.
