Some Good News About the Presbyterian Church’s Anti-Israel Vote

By Louie V. Yadua

The Presbyterians are so worried about profiting from businesses that make money by helping Jews avoid being murdered that the Presbyterian Church voted to divest from three American companies.

Of course, Sunnis are shechting Shiites all over the planet, both of them are swimming in the blood of their own daughters anesthesia-free genital mutilation, and gays in Iran are being hung upside down from construction cranes — but at least the Presbyterians are staying focused on what really matters in the world. So that’s one piece of good news.

And of course, the Presbyterian church made clear that it's divested from businesses that make money helping Jews defend themselves out of “love” for the Jews and a commitment to interfaith dialogue. So that should definitely make us all feel a lot better.

But I noticed some other, even better news today about the Presbyterian church: the median age of people in the Presbyterian church is 63.

The median age for people in the United States is 36.8.  About 90% of Presbyterians are white; the median age for non-Hispanic whites is 42.3

The median age for Jews is 42 (essentially the same as for all non-Hispanic whites). Only 19% of Jews are 65 or over. And the median age for Orthodox Jewish adults is 40; for Jews overall, including those chochems who say they are Jews of no religion and those who are married to non-Jews, it’s 50.

So the good news is that the Presbyterians are actually disappearians. In 20 years they won’t even be herians and it won’t matter what they think, or thought, or whom they pretended to “love” or what they felt the need to divest from in order to remain the noble folks they are — or were.
