The Tamar Yonah Show - KITNIYOT: To EAT or NOT TO EAT? That is the Question.

The BIG debate. To eat Kitniyot (legumes) on Passover, or not? It has been a centuries old custom for Ashkenazi Jews NOT to eat kitniyot on Passover. For the Sepharadim however (Jews from Spain and African and Arab countries), kitniyot are perfectly permissible. Now that the Jews from all over the world are returning to Israel, should we drop the old customs and all eat like native 'Israelis'? Rabbi David Bar-Hayim, an Israeli Orthodox rabbi who heads the Shilo Institute, a Jerusalem-based rabbinical court and institute of Jewish education dedicated to Torat Eretz Yisrael, says it is actually hurtful to keep this Ashkenazi custom in Israel, as it divides families and causes hurtful feelings. Rav Bar-Hayim explains why, on this show. Check out his website at: www.MachonShilo.org

Also, Shifra Hoffman of VictimsOfArabTerror.org and Shuva.net talks about the continuing Arab terror attacks on Jews.
