West Coast Student Essay Contest

The Milken Family Foundation and the Board of Jewish Education (BJE) partnered in sponsoring the recent Jewish Educator Awards Student Essay Contest for middle and high-school students from BJE-affiliated schools. Schools of the prize-winning essayists receive an unrestricted gift of $1,800, and the winners’ choice of an approved charity receives $500.

The essay contest winners were Zevi Gersten, a 7th grade student at Emek Hebrew Academy, and Yaakov Leebhoff, an 11th grade student at Ner Aryeh. Both schools are in Valley Village, California.
