This week Rabbi Yitzchak and William discuss the weekly Torah portion of Terumah. This portion discusses the contributions requested of the children of Israel for the construction of the Mishkah (Tabernacle). This holy structure is often contrasted with the Golden Calf by the Sages of Judaism. So, our hosts ask themselves and the audience what type of structures are we really building? Is it a holy space for the Creator to dwell in our midst, or is it a structure related to the physical world, that only exists as a form with no holy inner space?

The National Religious Broadcasters gathered in the final week of February 2020 at Gaylord Opryland in Nashville for their annual convention. It is an opportunity to address media issues and programming for the largely Christian Evangelical communicators who have had an outside influence on Trump Administration policy regarding Israel and increasingly on the rising Global Antisemitism in the West, particularly here in the US. Attending as major speakers are several figures in the Administration and of the President: Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of Education Betsey DeVos and personal attorney to the President Jay Sekulow.
Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon interviewed Dexter Van Zile, Christian Media Analyst for CAMERA – the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis - and Rabbi John Hausman spiritual leader of Congregational Ahavath Torah who has been active in Christian Evangelical outreach - who will presenting at a Panel Discussion sponsored by Proclaiming Justice to the Nations PTJN on Thursday afternoon February 27, 2020, entitled: Strategies for Christians in Media Wars.
Van Zile will address Modern Christian Antisemitism: How are Christian Leaders Influencing Antisemitism. Rabbi Hausman will speak on The Unification of Jews & Christians: Is This Historic? Biblical? A colleague of Van Zile, Rev. Dr. Tricia Miller, CAMERA Christian Research Analysis and an Evangelical Pastor is responsible for outreach to the Evangelical Community and establishing relationships. She will be speaking on the topic of Antisemitism, Anti-Judaism and Anti-Zionism: How is the Church Influencing this Unbiblical Union Today?
We asked Dexter Van Zile and Rabb Hausman why are Evangelicals who attended the National Religious Broadcasters convention important supporters for Israel?
Rabbi Hausman, interpreting Romans Chapter 11 in the New Testament, noted a question in the text that resonates with Evangelicals. "Has God rejected his people-meaning the Jews? By no means has God rejected his people. Therefore, Christians are grafted into the same spiritual roots as the Jewish people and Israel as a state. As a result not only the Gentiles will be saved, but all the Jewish people and the State of Israel".
Van Zile warned "that if God changes his mind about Jews. Who is to say that God might change his mind about Christians? We don’t want to worship a God who changes mind".
Van Zile said in response to the question of how important are the Evangelicals? He admitted "he was dumbfounded when Trump moved the Embassy to Jerusalem. It had everything to do with the role that Evangelicals played in the 2016 election in getting President Trump elected. The National Religious Broadcasters convention is a very important event for the Evangelicals because they are backbone of American Support for Israel. They are the groups in America who have the best sense of purpose, who are the best supporters of Israel. People who are rooted in religious purpose and who live productive and useful lives of achievements will support Israel. People who turn their backs on the principles of natural law and rights and hold grievances will attack Israel".
As to why major figures in The Trump Administration are at the National Religious Broadcasters convention, Van Zile noted "the Administration knows this is an important constituency. It has had the Administration's back over major controversies during the past three years and thus is grateful for the support". Rabbi Hausman supported this view and said," you must look broader at other Evangelicals groups in this sphere". He cited Vice President Pence, " who has been a founding member of Christians United for Israel (CUFI). That Secretary of State Pompeo is an Evangelical. Thus, the Evangelicals have a presence at the very center of this Administration that is very transactionally oriented".
Among other speakers of note are widely published author and commentator Dr. Andrew Bostom who will be speaking on Islamic Antisemitism: Understanding the Global Pandemic of Muslim Antisemitism Today & Its Doctrinal and Historical Roots. Dr. Carol Swain, media commentator, former Princeton and Vanderbilt professor of law and political science and Pulitzer Prize nominated author of The New White Nationalism in America will address Classic Antisemitism in Academia and How It is Influencing a New Generation of Violence Against Jews. Rev. Jeffrey Jemison a leading Black leader from Ohio will speak on MLK & Zionism and The Rise of Antisemitism in the Christian African American Community: How Can We Overcome?
A word about the dynamic founder of PTJN: Laurie Cardozo Moore. She is a Special Envoy at the UN for human right for 44 Million Christians. She has been most notably involved in advocacy for Antisemitism Awareness Resolution at the state house level in the US. She is a noted advocate confronting Global Antisemitism, BDS and Israelophobia. Her award-winning documentaries have reached 2 billion viewers through a network of 21 channels.

Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon bring back Dexter Van Zile, Christian Media Analyst of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA) to address why anti- Zionism is the only unifying factor for the World Council of Churches (WCC). The umbrella world body was founded in 1948 with the mission of unifying Christian witness. However, with conflicting theologies, the only thing that it shares is political defamation of the Jewish state of Israel thus providing cover for the Palestinian Authority opposing efforts at normalization.
Instead, the WCC supports the blood libel actions of clerics like Archbishop Attallah Hanna, the Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem condemned by the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the International Committee for Interreligious Consultations. Then there is South African theologian Jerry Pillay who is running for election as the WCC leader who accuses Israel of being an apartheid state. General Secretary Fykse Tveit of the WCC has joined forces with anti-Israel Churches for Middle East Peace condemning the Trump “Peace through Prosperity Plan”. The WCC views the Peace plan as the equivalent of an act of war against the Palestinians. Thus, providing cover to corrupt Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas to avoid engaging in bi-lateral negotiations persisting in holding out to occupy the space between the “river and the sea” by espousing incitement to hatred and funding terrorism. According to Van Zile, the PA relies on the WCC to promote hostility and agitation towards Israel. The Palestinians believe the WCC has access to the international media to further their agenda of incitement to hate and terrorism.
The WCC also operates in a dhimmi-like pose to Islamic supremacism in the Middle East because of threats to dwindling Christian minorities in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan. The WCC is fearful of sectarian riots and pogroms against minority Christians. This comes as normalization of relations with Israel is being promoted by the Gulf Arab States, and by both Palestinian and Israeli Arabs who increasingly identify with the benefits of living under Israeli law and commerce.
Van Zile contrasts the WCC anti-Israel agenda with the pro-Zionism of evangelical groups like the 8 million strong members of Christians United for Israel. He attributes that to the founding fathers of the US who were Old Testament Scripture Protestants who recognized the contributions of the Jewish People for self-government and as America as a “chosen nation”. The vast majority of American evangelicals support and love the Jewish people and the Jewish nation of Israel. Van Zile believes that Evangelical pastors do not follow the lead of the WCC and the UN.
When the subject of the peculiar role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the WCC was brought up, Van Zile noted that during the Cold War era that it was infiltrated by the KGB and deployed Christians in international groups. The Russian Orthodox Church does whatever the current Putin regime says is policy. That includes oppressing minority Christian churches that oppose the Orthodox hierarchy.
The discussion turned to Van Zile’s human rights -based arguments against granting the Palestinians a state rooted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, passed in 1948 and modeled on that adopted by the US. Van Zile argues that by refusing to acknowledge Jewish rights to self-determination, Palestinians are undermining their own moral claim to the right of determination. He points to the so-called Cairo Declaration of Human Rights, developed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 1990’s, that granted such rights, just as long as they confirmed to Islamic Sharia law, an act of Islamic Supremacism. Thus, violating the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

On this week's show Rabbi Yitzchak and William discuss the weekly Torah portion titled Mishpatim. Mishpatim relates to ordinances or judgments commanded by Hashem to the Jewish people. Most people find these civil ordinances to seem anti-climactic in light of last week's revelation at Mount Sinai. However, on closer inspection these laws can reveal great spiritual truths and show how the first ordinances related to slavery can teach us about the role of Messiah in our future redemption.

Something is wrong. Something just doesn't add up.
How serious a danger is the coronavirus as compared to other infectious diseases which kill millions of people a year? When you look at how many people the Chinese government claims to have contracted the Coronavirus (less than 80,000), and how many have died so far from it (under 2,000 people), one wonders why they have taken such drastic measures as to force over half its population under quarantine and lock-down. It is especially confounding when the coronavirus so far, doesn't even come near the death-rate of other infectious diseases like Influenza, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis, HIV, and Diarrheal diseases. If this is the case, does the danger of the Coronavirus (which according to statistics given out, most people survive this virus) justify the government in shutting down its people, ports, and demand a forced quarantine? The numbers just don't add up to justify taking such drastic measures like this. Tamar talks about the matter, and that maybe the numbers of deaths in China are MUCH HIGHER than the Chinese government is willing to admit.

Over 50,000 workers from the Palestinian Authority arrive in Israel every day for their jobs. If and when the devastating virus reaches the PA, Mahmoud Abbas's poorly run and trained health system will be incapable of adequately identifying, treating and isolating those infected and those at risk. Once the virus is here among us all ...and spreading, it will be of little use for PA Arabs to fall back on Israeli health facilities and services that would already be stretched to the limit.
The Coronavirus does not distinguish between border lines or between Arab and Jew, yet these two entities will handle this virus much differently, and how they do may be the ruin of one, or both. Israel must take the reigns if and when the corona virus makes its way to this region.

Irving Roth speaks of the gates closed by democracies, especially the betrayal by the FDR administration, to rescue European Jewish men, women and children, six million of whom were murdered in unspeakable ways. He draws on his experience growing up in a small town in what became Fascist Slovakia after the appeasement by Britain and France at Munich in 1938 broke up what was pre-WWII Czechoslovakia. First it was No Jews allowed in the town parks, no bathing in the beach on the River, then no Jews allowed to attend school. Then after the Final Solution Nazi Wannsee Conference in Berlin in January 1942, 1,800 of the town’s 2,000 Jews were marched to the synagogue, locked inside and “resettled” -meaning sent to one of the six Nazi killing center. He and his family were among the 200 Jews left behind.
He tells of the loss of his family's lumber business through “aryanization” and betrayal by Christian friends in his community in Slovakia. The family escape in 1943 to a small village in Hungary in 1943 here they have relatives, while his parents move on to find work in Budapest. That haven ended in 1944, when the Horthy and Hungarian Nazi Arrow Cross party capitulated to German occupation and Eichmann began transports to Auschwitz – Birkenau.
Mr. Roth, his brother and grandparents were captured and transported to the Auschwitz - Birkenau death camp in southern Poland, where over 437,000 Hungarian Jews were gassed and their remains incinerated in a 53-day period in 1944. Over 1.1 million were murdered at Auschwitz – Birkenau; 90 percent of them, Jews. His grandparents, brother Bondi and several other relatives did not survive. He witnessed the accidental bombing by the 15th USAAF in September 1944 and the Sonderkommando Revolt in October 1944 with the aid of valiant Jewish women inmates at the IG Farben plant who provided the explosives that destroyed Crematorium 4 in Birkenau.
Roth and his older brother Bondi were part of the 60,000 inmates death march that left Auschwitz in early January 1945 from which less than 12,000 survived. He ended up in Buchenwald concentration camp from which he was freed on April 11, 1945 by two US Army soldiers; one white and the other black who found him weighing less than 75 pounds. He recalls the Hungarian Seventh Day Adventist nurse who cared for his father while recovering from Typhus and hid both parents in her apartment in Budapest. Roth, his parents and a cousin return to his hometown after the end of WWII and confront the local Christians who shunned, occupied their home and betrayed the family business. The Roth family desperately try to find his missing brother Bondi, to no avail.
It is through the sponsorship of an uncle in New York that his parent and, a cousin that they came to the US in January 1947. Roth, whose education was denied as a Jew in fascist Slovakia, makes up for lost time. He served in the US Army, completed high school and attending Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute earning both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering. He eventually became a research director for an electronics firm in Long Island, New York.
Roth speaks of the FDR administration to rescue of European Jewish men, women and children, six million. He suggests that some major American universities harbor anti-Israel and under the Antisemitism in the name of protection of free speech. It is important, he says that American students do not forget the history of the holocaust and the rise of lethal anti-Semitism in the West. Through the auspices of Christian United for Israel (CUFI,) Mr. Roth has spoken at more than 200 college and university campuses throughout the US.
This interview by Jerry Gordon and Rod Reuven Dovid of Israel News Talk Radio - Beyond the Matrix, with Irving Roth. He is an internationally renowned holocaust speaker and co-author with his son, Dr. Edward S. Roth, of a memoir "Bondi's Brother". The interview was conducted at the Pace (Florida) Assembly Ministries, on a Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Night to Honor Israel on Sunday, February 2, 2020. We are grateful for the arrangements made for this interview by Pastor Joey Rogers and his able audio-visual communications team for this production. Mr. Roth will be featured in a CUFI film, "Never Again" to be released in the fall of 2020.
Mr. Roth also presented at a CUFI student chapter event on the campus of the University of West Florida in neighboring Pensacola on Monday, February 3, 2020. While there he met another holocaust survivor, Mrs. Molly Gross, whose late husband, Leon Gross, z"l, was also at Buchenwald in the same barracks at the late Elie Wiesel, z"l.

Lots or reports and video footage are coming in from all over trying to tell us that the Chinese government is not giving out the true numbers of the dead and those infected with the Coronavirus. Videos of people dropping dead in the streets of China, claims that 50,000 people have already died with their bodies incinerated, and that over a million and a half more have contracted the virus. HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT IS TRUE? How do we discern what is fake news, and staged videos, and what is real, and how much of it is real? Tamar speaks with her guest, Dr. Mordechai Ben-Menachem, about the correct way to examine what we know, and what we don't know.

The recent commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz - Birkenau death camp by Russian Forces on January 20, 1945 and the gathering of 50 world leaders at the World Holocaust Forum at Yad Va Shem in Jerusalem brought new focus on the question of why didn’t the allies Bomb Auschwitz? A BBC/PBS documentary, “Bombing Auschwitz” was accused of being a “whitewash” of FDR’s betrayal of the six million European Jewish men, woman and children murdered in unspeakable ways during the Holocaust. Those accusations and more were the comments of a frequent guest on Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix, Dr. Rafael Medoff, executive director of the David S. Wyman, Institute of Holocaust Studies. Rod Bryant and Jerry Gordon discussed these issues with Dr. Medoff.
Dr. Medoff is the author of more than 20 books on this and related topics; the most work being "The Jews Should Keep Quiet: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, and the Holocaust". The title stems from conversations between President Roosevelt and Rabbi Wise, a leading American Jewish Leader of both the World and American Jewish Congresses to pressure American Jews not to pursue rescue of European Jews as a ‘diversion’ of the war against Nazi Germany. A major chapter in Medoff’s latest book deals with the bombing Auschwitz controversy.
Medoff had been approached by the BBC production team for a possible interview. He balked at the opportunity after reviewing the re-enactments portrayed in the documentary which did not reflect the realities. Among these were the facts that American Jewish leaders had approached both the Secretary of State Hull and Secretary of War Stimson with requests to bomb the rail network and bridges on the approaches to the Auschwitz - Birkenau killing center. The BBC production portray a false moral quandary confronting FDR and leading figures in his Administration that bombing the death complex would have killing innocent inmates. Instead FDR adopted the theme rescue could only be achieved through victory against Hitler’s Nazi regime on the battlefield. That his Administration refused opportunities to rescue Jews when it would not constitute a “diversion” of the war effort.
In this Israel New Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix interview, Medoff reveals a filmed documentary was made with 1972 Democrat Presidential Candidate, the late South Dakota Senator George McGovern. McGovern during WWII piloted B-24 Liberator missions with the USAAF 740th Bombardment Squadron over the IG Farben Artificial Rubber complex, less than 5 miles from the killing center at Birkenau. The chimneys of the crematoria at Birkenau were used as waypoints on the final approaches to the targets at the Auschwitz 1 industrial complex where later Nobel Laureates Primo Levi and Elie Wiesel worked as slave laborers.
McGovern confirmed the feasibility of conducting missions against the rail net and bridges, a common target for US Army Air Force missions to disrupt troop and equipment transportation. Medoff cites McGovern saying that while FDR was his political hero, he faulted him for two failures; the incarceration in concentration camps in the American West of 120,000 Japanese Americans under Executive Order 9066 and the failure to undertake bombing of the Auschwitz – Birkenau complex that might have rescued Jews. Especially, tens of thousands of the more than 437,000 Hungarian Jews murdered in the gas chambers whose remains burned to ashes in the four crematoria at Birkenau from May to July 1944.
Medoff and a colleague Thane Rosenbaum wrote an article for The New York Jewish Week, “Every Generation Needs to Bomb Auschwitz.” a reference to facing the moral question of using military force to prevent genocide. They cite among examples: the Clinton air campaign in the Balkans; the Obama Administration bombing of ISIS to rescue the Yazidis in Iraq and the Trump Administration missile strikes against Syrian chemical sites. To make those decisions, Medoff says we must first learn the facts from history about why Auschwitz – Birkenau could have been bombed to disrupt the deaths of over 1.1 million at the death complex; 90 percent of whom were Jews.
Medoff noted that the official newspaper of the Palestinian Authority had published an article during the recent World Holocaust Forum urging violent attacks at the gathering of World leaders at the Yad Va Shem Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. He authored a letter co-signed by more than 150 holocaust historians calling for the PA leaders to fire the author of the article. Among those who didn’t sign the letter were the historians of the staff of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum who created the controversial exhibit America and the Holocaust, seeking to absolve FDR and his Administration of failure to rescue Jews during the Shoah.
Medoff noted that it was Jewish activists who aroused Congressional in late 1943 to pass a Resolution requesting the Roosevelt Administration to rescue European Jews. That pressure led to Roosevelt creating the War Refugee Board with minimal staff and funding to accomplish this task. Nevertheless, with largely private Jewish organization funding, the WRB wrought “miracles”. Foremost among these was the magnificent effort by the valiant Swedish Diplomat Raoul Wallenberg who spared the lives of over a hundred thousand Hungarian Jews in Budapest with the aid of Foreign neutral government consuls. Medoff estimates the WRB initiatives saved more than 200,000 Jewish lives.

This week Rabbi Yitzchak and William look at two very interesting verses in the book of Exodus related to the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire. Early on in chapter 13 we see that Hashem goes before the children of Israel in the pillar of cloud, however, in chapter 14 we see that the angel of Elokim is now moving from before the children of Israel in the pillar of cloud to behind the camp. The pillar of fire also moves and now these two pillars separate the camp of Israel from the camp of Egypt after the Egyptians change their minds and come after the children of Israel. Listen to the very interesting discussion from commentaries of the sages to bring light to these verses.

The 'Deal of the Century' looks a lot like the Two-State Solution - with some adjustments. But will the same tired idea of 'Land for Peace' formula really work? The Weekend Edition of the Wall Street Journal on January 18-19, 2020 had a provocative essay by controversial Dr. Martin Indyk, currently a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, former Clinton era Ambassador to Israel, State Department Assistant Secretary for Near East Affairs and Obama era Special envoy for Israel- Palestinian negotiations: “The Middle East Isn’t Worth it Anymore”. Indyk’s bottom line was the US has few vital interests at stake in the Region and should set aside its “grandiose ambitions”. Takeaways were “a two-state solution to the Palestinian problem is a vital Israel interest, not a vital American one” and “We should be wary of those who should rush to battle stations on Iran”.
To rebut Dr. Indyk’s commentary, considering recent Trump Administration actions in the Middle East combating Iran’s hegemonic and belligerency against US Allies in the region, especially Israel, we held a wide-ranging discussion with Shoshana and Dr. Stephen Bryen. We consider this dynamic couple as go-to informed experts in Washington, DC when it comes to Israel, US security and regional geo-political interests. Stephen Bryen is a former Reagan Era Deputy Undersecretary of Defense, noted military technology expert and Asia Times Columnist. Shoshana Bryen is senior director of the Jewish Policy Center and editor of its inFocus Quarterly.
Here are key points raised in our discussion with the Bryens.
Indyk is fronting for Qatar and Iran wants the US out of the Middle East.
Shoshana Bryen: Martin Indyk worked at the Brookings Institution which was being funded by Qatar. Qatar is the reputed arm of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is in Qatar’s interest to have the United States abandon the Middle East on behalf of Iran. That is what Martin Indyk is fronting in his article.
Steve Bryen: Indyk is saying, "Well, this deal with the Palestinians is only in Israel's interest”. America doesn't care about it. A lot of people, particularly anti-Semites, will agree with that. in the 1970s, I wrote an article called Israel as a Security Asset for the United States. In the Middle East, US doesn't have very much in the way of resources, but it has Israel. And Israel is the anchor that holds the whole Middle East together. Without Israel, there would be nothing but war in the Middle East, it would be disaster, and the oil wouldn't flow. I think that Israel plays a very vital role in America's foreign and security policy. it is a security asset for our country, and we treat it as such, as we should.
Was the Assassination of Quds Force Commander Soleimani and Iraqi proxy leaders a strategic deterrent masterstroke?
Stephen Bryen: I think was a very clever, smart, intelligent move by President Trump and the Pentagon to deal with this threat. And they dealt with it directly, and I think it's had a tremendous effect.
Shoshana Bryen: Among the effects that you see is the empowerment of the Iranian people. The New York Times and the Washington Post would have you believe that this rebellion in Iran started with the downing of Ukrainian airliner. That is not true. It started two years ago in December of 2017 with women going out on the streets and taking off their headwear, with people going on strike, all kinds of things that were not reported heavily in the West. The killing of Soleimani, however, has focused at least some major media attention on the Iranian people. Without Soleimani, Iranians feel empowered. The demonstrations are getting larger, and that is good for us. We can't run it. it is not our rebellion, it is theirs.
Mainstream Media not reporting on Iranian protests not stepping on US and Israeli Flags.
Shoshana Bryen: Now that the Iranian rebellion is growing, people are avoiding those painted-on flags on the sidewalks. And you can see them, there is video proof. In Iran, they go to the sites and they won't walk on the American flag or the Israeli flag. Many people are unaware that the people of Iran were doing this, because they are reading the New York Times and the Washington Post. People aren't seeing how brave and how forward the Iranian people have become, and that is a shame. They come out at night and they tear down signs with big pictures of Soleimani. There are still major demonstrations. in Tehran, and in many parts of the country where the government has less control than it used to have.
On the impact of Trump’s Farsi Tweets.
Shoshana Bryen: The tweet in Farsi within hours became the top, most liked and retweeted tweet, ever in the Farsi language. I think it is a way to encourage the people of Iran to understand that we are behind them. There is no mention in there as there shouldn't be of us in doing it, helping it, running it, financing it. None of that, but to say to the Iranian people, if you're out there, we're thinking about you and we're behind you. Therefore, it is important to understand it all started in December 2017. They've been doing it. He's supporting them. It's a good thing.
Stephen Bryen: Remember the regime shut down the internet, so Trump’s Farsi tweet had a huge impact. Trump's a genius at communications, and I think the Farsi tweet was brilliant. He understands that people follow Twitter, but they don't follow the New York Times.
On the impact of US and Israeli Farsi radio and websites.
Shoshana Bryen: The US Radio Farda in Farsi is very popular in Iran. First, Farda tells the people what is happening in their own country. One of the problems with revolutions is if you don't know what the other guys are doing, you don't know what you can do. Second, it tells them what is happening outside their country. There are several Israeli equivalents of that, which is how Prime Minister Netanyahu talked to the Iranian people directly and told them that Israel would help Iran with its agricultural and municipal water problems. That website that he referred them to was one of the most popular ever connected to by Iranians. There was an Israeli Chief of Staff who was Iranian born and spoke Farsi. He used to do interviews from a European site, with Iranian people who would call in and talk to the Israeli Army Chief of Staff in Farsi. The Israelis are ahead of us on that and they do a good job.
Anti-clericalism may advance Peace through Prosperity in the Middle East advocated by Dan Diker of the JCPA.
The religious people in Iran and elsewhere do not want modernization, secularization, prosperity, economic advancement. Professor Hillel Frisch, at the BESA center in Tel Aviv, who writes about the coming end of clericalism in the Middle East, believes that the people are going to rise, not just in Iran, but elsewhere against clericalism. He points to Tunisia, he points to the death of Morsi in Egypt, which attracted zero attention from anybody to say that people are beginning to want something else. If Dan Diker of the JCPA is correct, which I suspect he is, this anti-clericalism may advance peace through prosperity.
What is behind the downing of Ukrainian International Air Flight Ps 752 that backfired on Iran’s Islamic Regime.
Stephen Bryen: There has been a constant stream of lies coming from Iran First, they said it was a mechanical failure. Then they said the plane was heading toward a sensitive military installation. Then they said the plane turned around. Then they said the black boxes were damaged and unrecoverable. The question is what's really going on here, what happened, and why did it happen? I keep coming back in my mind to the theory that this was intended to be a provocation against the United States by shooting down an Iranian airline. They didn't know it was a Ukrainian, they thought it was Iranian, this is my guess. And by doing that, it would create this horrible incident, which would set the world against the United States. That was the idea. I think it was a revolutionary guard hatched plot.
Has Soleimani’s Black Bank money to proxies slowed following his assassination.
Shoshana Bryen: The money had slowed before Soleimani was killed because of the Trump Administration's restoration of sanctions. Hezbollah had already seen a great drop in its revenues, Hamas in the Gaza strip had seen a drop in its revenues. The Syrians were hoping that Iran would do the reconstruction in Syria. All their money is gone, there is no money flowing thanks to the decision of President Trump and the US government to restore the sanctions.

As human beings, we recognize that at times, we have to give up or sacrifice something that we want now for the sake of a larger goal. At times, we are willing to make such sacrifices (example; missing a football game to study for medical boards) and at other times, we may not be willing to give up what would truly lead to our greater happiness and well being (example; that piece of cake that is going to ruin my diet). Why is it at times so hard to give something up that would ultimately lead to our greater happiness and well being? Why is it so hard to make sacrifices now for the sake of a better future?

Hear: How Israel tears itself apart from the inside. Instead of Unity there is division. Personal ego and insults are the order of the day. Gone are the times when politicians worked on the basis of 'My country before me'. Now it's reversed. Demonstrated by the Knesset Member's pay rise, and Netanyahu's immunity application. All that, while according to the OECD we have the highest poverty numbers of all their members. Yet According to Jewish law, we must even feed our animals before ourselves.

Rabbi Yitzchak is once again joined by his wife to discuss the book of Exodus and the importance of names. Often times our names in addition to identifying us, also reveal our characteristics. It is interesting to note that many of the people in the opening stories of Exodus remain nameless. Like Yocheved the mother of Moses and Miriam his sister, as well as the Pharoah. Yet, we see that G-d reveals His Name to Moses in a way that He has never revealed it to anyone else. This show will reveal the importance of our names and more importantly the holiness of the name of G-d.

If your enemy says he wants to kill you, believe him! And, yet, many Jews are drawn to causes and leaders who aspire to destroy both Jews and the Jewish state. For months, we at Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix had asked why the Trump Administration hadn’t developed a strategy to confront Iran’s jihadi regime? This was after Iran downed a US reconnaissance drone and launched a drone and cruise missile attack crippling Saudi Arabia’s oil processing and storage facilities. The New Year saw an abrupt shift to active deterrence with the dramatic killing of Iran’s powerful Ouds Force commander Soleimani and the regime lying about its downing of a Ukrainian airliner with 176 passengers aboard shortly after it took off from Tehran’s Khomeini Airport. That set off massive Iranian protests calling for the fall of the hated Islamic regime and its Supreme Ruler, Ayatollah Khamenei. The sequence of stunning events included a US air attack at an Iran Shiite proxy base in Iraq in late December that killed 25 fighters and destroyed Iranian supplied precision rockets used in an attack at a US base near Kirkuk killing a US contractor. That brought out Iran-backed Iraqi Shia militia forces who tried to force entry to the US Embassy in Baghdad in the Green Zone; thwarted by the arrival of 100 US Marines from Kuwait. On January 3rd, Iran’s powerful Quds Force Commander and Number 2 Islamic Regime figure, General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi Shia proxy Commander Abu Mohammed Al- Humandis were killed in a US MQ9 Reaper drone strike at Baghdad airport. On January 7th the IRGC launched 15 missiles at US Iraqi bases, Al-Asad and Erbil in Western and Northern Iraq clearly aimed at killing US troops based there. There were no casualties, but there was damage to the facilities and destruction of a helicopter. Within hours of that on January 8th a “lethally incompetent attack” by an Iranian Russian-supplied Tor SA-15 air defense missile destroyed Ukrainian Air Flight Ps 752 with 176 passengers and air crew. Most of the victims aboard the fateful flight were ex-pat Canadian Iranians and Iranian students. The Islamic regime was caught lying about the downing of the plane prompting massive protests across Iran. Videos of the protests revealed cries of “Death to the Dictators” and “Don’t blame America” as well as, beatings, use of tear gas and shooting of protesters by Iranian security police and the dreaded Basij paramilitaries. The Islamic regime was left stunned on its backfoot forced to acknowledge its downing Flight 752. Iran’s economy was already reeling from the Trump maximum pressure campaign and announcement of new sanctions. David Goldman in an Asia Times article cited how fragile the economy is with a drop in real income, swooning fertility, three years of drought and an incompetent water management system. To assess what this all means, we brought back Kenneth Timmerman veteran US Iran watcher, investigative journalist and New York Times best-selling author of Countdown to Crisis: The Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran. Timmerman brought news about the impact of a previous INTR – BTM interview on nefarious Iran activities in the Republic of Georgia against a defector and witness in the US Iran Links 9/11 case, Alireza Soleimanpak. Our article, based on the Timmerman interview, was a key feature in a national Republic of Georgia TV news broadcast. Timmerman said, “intensive investigations have unearthed Georgian PM and former Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia money laundering and Iran intelligence connections which might result in his removal from office”. PM Gakharia and the Iranian Ambassador, an intelligence operative, colluded in a nefarious plot against Soleimanpak who was wrongfully arrested and prosecuted in Georgia and sentenced to 18 years on trumped charges that he was in Georgia to kill two Iranians. Timmerman had the following observations on the stunning developments in Iran. On the Mushrooming protests against the Islamic Regime. The shooting down of the Ukrainian airliner with Iranians, both Canadian ex-pats and nationals aboard, “was a turning point”. The Trump Farsi tweet scored over 200,000 “likes” – the highest ever recorded. There is now “new hope for Iranians opposing the Ayatollah”. Timmerman drew attention to protesters in a video at Amir Tabir University in Tehran who avoided stepping on the US and Israeli flags painted on the quadrangle. Instead protesters hassled Hezbollah supporters who attempted to step on them. He drew attention to news media in the West “silent on what happened at Amir Tabir University”. By way of contrast, Western media focused on the videos of the throngs of what Timmerman called, a “rent a mob” of government workers who were drafted to attend the funeral of General Soleimani. He cited comments of Democrat Presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren as “confused’ criticizing the President’s actions killing Soleimani on cable news programs while in the company of Washington lobbyist Trita Parsi, “a paid agent of the Islamic Regime”. On the matter of the US withdrawal from Iraq letter from US. Marine General Seeley. Timmerman said, “he is out of a job”. He argued that if the US withdrew, Iraq would cease to exist as a unified country. In its place would be an independent Kurdistan, Sunni and Shia states. It “would be a disaster waiting to happen”. It would generate a war of liberation from Iran. Turkey would seize the opportunity to seize Kurdistan and other Ottoman - era possessions especially oil rich areas like Kirkuk. On the impact of the loss of control of black terror funding with the death of Soleimani and fragility of Economy. Timmerman said the US Treasury should swing into action to seize accounts directly held by Soleimani, including those in Germany. The recently announced sanctions would the noose around the neck of the Islamic Regime. The $600 million-dollar annual subsidy to Shia proxy Hezbollah from Soleimani’s ‘black’ bank may be in jeopardy. Timmerman noted the swooning oil sales by Iran falling from 2.5 million barrels daily to less than 400,00 which “can’t cover domestic consumption needs”. On the status of the Revolutionary Guards. The Revolutionary Guards are “not monolithic”. The takeout of Soleimani is a “big deal”. He thinks the opposition may be courting the hierarchy with offers of a peaceful transition. He noted there are “fissures” in the rank and file”. The prod would be the new US deterrence doctrine - “If you kill Americans, there is the threat of “kinetic reprisal actions”. Couple that with more Trump Farsi tweets and other forms of assistance to Iranian protesters. Timmerman noted only half of Iran are Persians, the remainder are Kurds, Lurs, Azeri, Ahwaz Arabs and Sunni Baloch, some with their own resistance groups.

Rabbi Yitzchak is joined once again by his wife Leah as they discuss the connections made regarding exile and redemption in the Torah portion Vayechi read last week, and the Torah portion of Shemot which starts this week. The connections are made between Yaakov (Jacob), Yosef (Joseph) and Moshe (Moses), as it relates to the beginning of the exile in Egypt and the concept of redemption. Not just the physical redemption of the children of Israel, but the spiritual component that is even relevant today.

On the evening of January 7, 2020, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards launched more than a dozen short range ballistic missiles from Iran that hit US coalition bases at Al – Sad and Irbil in Western and Northern Iraq. There were initial unconfirmed reports of possible casualties. Early warning of the attack may have sent both Iraqis, US and other coalition military personnel to safety in bunkers. Was this the threatened “hard revenge” that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had warned would come against US military bases? This Iranian missile attack was response to the US MQ9 Drone missile strike at Baghdad Airport on January 3, 2020 that killed General Qasem Soleimani, the powerful commander of the elite Quds Force and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis Commander of Iran – controlled Iraqi PMF Kata'ib Hezbollah. The Trump White House and Pentagon were monitoring these developments and considering possible retaliatory actions to take. The question is could President’s Trump’s fateful decision to assassinate General Soleimani trigger escalate reprisal actions between the US and Iran leading to a possible war in the Middle East region? Just prior to these developments, Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon convened a discussion with Ken Timmerman, veteran Iran watcher, investigative journalist and best-selling author and Stephen Bryen, Reagan -era Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Technical Security, noted military technologist and Asia Times columnist. The purpose was to assess the significance of the assassination of General Soleimani and its impact on combating Iran’s hegemonic support for regional terrorism via attacks by proxies against US assets and allies in the Middle East region. Soleimani was the second most powerful figure in the Islamic Republic of Iran, next to its Supreme Ruler, Ayatollah Khamenei. He had conducted global terrorism that resulted in more than 1,200 US military deaths from Iranian I.E.D.’s in Iraq and Afghanistan. There were bombings in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1992 that killed 38 Israeli Embassy personnel and the 1994 blast that left 85 dead and over 200 injured in the bombing of the Jewish AMIA Center. He sent General Rahimi and a Quds Force team to Benghazi, Libya in 2012 that resulted in the deaths of the US Ambassador, a communications aide and two CIA security contractors on 9/12. Soleimani used snipers to kill Iranian and Iraqi protesters. He was responsible for thousands of deaths of Palestinians in Syria. His chief henchman in these murderous activities was Hezbollah Military Commander, Imad Mughniyeh, who perpetrated the 1983 Marine Barracks bombing in Beirut that killed 241, the earlier US Embassy blast that killed 63. Mughniyeh was assassinated in February 2008 in a bombing allegedly by Mossad with US assistance near the Syrian Intelligence Center in Damascus. Timmerman noted Soleimani created a major black funding source by cutting a deal with the Iraqi finance ministry that generated $1 billion a month from foreign exchange trading. The facility was used to fund terrorist activities of proxies like Hezbollah and the Iraqi Shia Iran-controlled mobilization Forces. He controlled all operations, was very hands on, didn’t delegate to subordinates, especially his successor. His dominance of all operations together with his black bank operation made him irreplaceable to the Supreme Ruler, Ayatollah Khamenei. Timmerman noted with Soleimani’s death, questions remain about the ability to deliver $600 million annually for it support in Lebanon. Funding of other proxies in Iraqi, Afghanistan and Yemen may also be affected by the possible loss of the black facility that Soleimani controlled. Soleimani’s elimination may have changed the strategic balance in the Middle East. Bryen observed that what might have motivated the President’s decision to opt for killing Soleimani may have been intelligence on Iranian deliveries of special weapons to proxies in Iraqi that included MANPADS to shoot down US helicopters and upgraded Katyushas rockets equipped with GPS for use by Iraqi proxies to hit US bases. Bryen cited the irony that among the sea of mourners at Soleimani’s funeral was none other than Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas which was strenuously objected to by the Egyptians. Ironically, Hamas handed out candy on news of Soleimani’s death, who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Palestinians in Syria. Bryen warned about the possibility of a dramatic revenge attack by the IRGC. They operate independently on their own track-the proverbial tail wagging the dog. They were clearly anxious to attack US forces and assets in the region. Hence, the missile attacks on Al-Sad and Irbil bases that occurred following this program. Timmerman noted that the IRGC controls 80 percent of Iran’s economy including its oil and gas operations. He noted that the IRGC is split and a wing has links to anti-regime dissident groups to maintain power in case of a change in succession of the Supreme Ruler. In discussing possible responses by the US, Bryen noted that the IRGC could commit their own blunders that would trigger US retaliation against missile sites, nuclear development sites, command and control systems, the latter effectively blinding them. Their Air Force could be destroyed. Further escalation by Iran could reach the point where Israel might unleash its F-35s that have penetrated Iranian airspace. Bryen warned that further escalation by Iran might result in President Trump unleashing a massive response. Timmerman noted that during the so-called Tanker War in 1987- 1988, the US wiped out one -third of Iran’s Navy in less than 24 hours. We live in dangerous times.
