Seven Ways of Saying 'How Are You' in Hebrew
מַה נִּשְׁמַע...?
In English, we've got many ways of asking someone how they are feeling, what they are doing, etc, such as how are you? how's it going? what's up? how are you going (Australian)? how are you doing (American)? what's going on? what's happening? etc.
In Hebrew, we've also got a bunch of ways to greet with a question. Here are seven:
מַה שְּׁלוֹמְךָ? מַה שְּׁלוֹמֵךְ?
How are you (to a male)? How are you (to a female)? Literally, What is your peace? listen and repeat
מַה נִּשְׁמַע?
What do we hear? listen and repeat
מַה קּוֹרֶה?
What's happening? listen and repeat
מַה הָעִנְיָנִים?
What are the matters? (What's interesting?) listen and repeat
מַה אַתָּה מְסַפֵּר? מַה אַתְּ מְסַפֶּרֶת?
What do you tell (to a male)? What do you tell (to a female)? listen and repeat
אֵיךְ הוֹלֵךְ?
How's (it) going? listen and repeat
מַה הוֹלֵךְ?
What is going? listen and repeat
