There are pros and cons of hammering out a peace treaty with our neighboring Arab countries. What does Israel have to give up, and what do the Arab states have to compromise on? Who gets the worst part of the deal, and who takes the most risks? Will these Arab states recognize Israel as a JEWISH State, and will they recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and establish their embassies here?Which Arab country will be the next to establish peace with Israel, and how WARM will that peace be? Also, Lebanon's president has now said that he is open to peace talks with Israel. Where can all of this take us, and how will Iran react?
Tamar Yonah speaks with Dr. Mordechai Kedar, a well known authority on Islamic Movements, the Arabic mass media, and politics and culture in Arab societies. He brings up some extremely important points on negotiating with the Arab world, what Israel is giving up as opposed to the Arabs, and how much of a price Israel may have to pay for 'peace' with countries that may need it more than we do. Rod Bryant and Jerry Gordon bring back New York Times best-selling author and intrepid Middle East investigative journalist, Ken Timmerman. Timmerman addresses what lies behind the “historic” blast that destroyed Beirut’s port with hundreds dead and missing, 7,000 injured, hundreds of thousands left homeless and violent protests resulting in the fall of the government. We also raise the mounting dangers of Turkey’s Erdogan seeking to regain lost Ottoman Empire lands with him as the new Islamic Caliph. We end with a discussion on a new fast-paced fictional work by Timmerman, "The Election Heist". It features a scenario based on his experience as a 2012 Congressional candidate in Maryland’s 8th Congressional District and eight years of his research into electronic and paper ballot electoral insecurity.
On the “historic” blast in Beirut.
Timmerman notes that the blast of over 2,750 tons of explosive grade ammonia nitrate stored in Beirut port since 2013 was the largest non-nuclear explosion in history. It was ten times greater than the 1983 US Marines and French Paratroops blasts in Beirut that killed over 300, injuring hundreds that was perpetrated by Hezbollah global terrorist Imad Mughniyeh. It was 1/15th the size of the nuclear bomb exploded over Hiroshima in August 1945 estimated at 20 tons. He accuses Iran and Hezbollah of involvement in triggering the blast. He points out Hezbollah leader’s brother-in-law in control of the port who was not detained, while the hapless senior port official was. Timmerman accuses Hezbollah of siphoning off 3 tons of the ammonia nitrate from the impounded Russian oligarch-owned ship MV Rhosus cargo that was found in the UK. Then there was the 2 tons uncovered in Germany, that led to listing of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Some of the supply of ammonia nitrate may have provided explosives for IEDs used in terror attacks in Syria and Iraq. Timmerman notes the comments by ex-Pentagon national security and Middle East expert, David Wurmser in a Center for Security Policy report drawing attention to three explosions including fireworks and possible rocket motor propellant. Timmerman spoke of intelligence community contacts who called the Hezbollah bombers “bozos” for inserting detonators.
Sky News reported discovery of a labyrinth of tunnels under the Beirut port following the blast. Timmerman suggests that Iran supplied German and Austrian made tunnel equipment. That was used to tunnel under the Israeli border in the 2006 Second Lebanon War, where he was present as a correspondent. The tunnel found under the Beirut port fits the modus operandi of Iran and Hezbollah and may have been used to manufacture precision rockets and motors. This he considers “extraordinarily dangerous”.
Timmerman noted the resignation of the current Lebanese government, with exception of President Michel Aoum. He knew Aoum when he was a Free Lebanon leader. Now, Timmerman considers him effectively a “puppet” of the Islamic Republic of Iran. When prompted by Rod Bryant he expressed admiration for the resiliency of the Lebanese people and its diaspora who have withstood these Iran-backed assaults and forced the fall of several governments.
We discussed the looming verdicts in the UN-backed $700 million trial of several indicted perpetrators of the Valentine’s Day 2005 assassination of the late Lebanese Premier Rafik Hariri. Timmerman suggests that truck bombing by Hezbollah had the support by both Assad’s Syria and Iran.
Timmerman noted that Israel has kept a low profile. The Lebanese Flag that was displayed on the Tel Aviv Municipal building was viewed as showing empathy matched for the victims of the Beirut port blast. He said Israel only does targeted covert actions with little collateral damage. As an example, he cited the joint CIA-Mossad takeout of Hezbollah terrorist mastermind Imad Mughniyeh in a bomb attack on his SUV after attending a celebration at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus in February 2008. Timmerman cited the irony of CIA ‘concerns’ over sparing the life of then Quds Force commander, the late Qassem Soleimani.
Erdogan’s quest for reclaiming “lost Ottoman lands”.
When queried about Turkey’s Erdogan bombing of Christians, Yazidis and Kurds in Iraq and involvement in Libya, Timmerman suggest that Erdogan wants to create the “evil of a new Ottoman ‘empire” given his involvement in Israel, Gaza, Syria, Iraq and Libya. Now Erdogan wants to be the “new Caliph”.
Why Erdogan’s activities in Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean are dangerous.
Erdogan’s declaration of a Maritime Exclusive Zone in the Eastern Mediterranean cuts across those of Israel and Cyprus blocking offshore gas and oil development and undersea pipelines to supply energy to the EU and international markets. Timmerman said this might require sending a US Carrier Task Force as a brusque answer to force Erdogan’s retreat from Libya.
"The Election Heist" fictional treatment of a November 2020 election.
Timmerman’s latest novel pits fictional Democratic Governor of Illinois Ms. Cheryl Tomlinson against real life Donald Trump and involves operatives of the Democratic National Campaign Committee backing hackers violating electoral security breaking into electronic voting systems in Maryland, Florida, and beyond. It is a fast-paced depiction of the insecurities of electoral electronic and paper balloting systems currently in use throughout the US. The scenario begins with the race in the Maryland 8th CD pitting the incumbent Democrat Rep. Hugh McKenzie against Republican first time candidate, Nelson Aguilar a Hispanic media mogul. There is an Israel-related episode at a press conference in Wheaton, Maryland in the 8th CD when Aguilar, the GOP contender backed by a local Mariachi band attired in red shirts, disrupts a presser by Democrat incumbent McKenzie. Aguilar cannily reveals that he was a reporter in Sderot, Israel during the rocket war in 2008-2009 of Operation Cast Lead. This contrasts with McKenzie’s signing onto a letter condemning Israel for alleged war crimes. There are other moments including Antifa thugs staging a protest in front of Trump Towers that results in the killing of two NYPD officers. Suffice to say, The Election Heist is a techno political thriller that appears to be art preceding possible realities in the coming Trump - Biden match-up. You can find Timmerman’s latest by Googling “The Election Heist”.

Recently there has been trouble on Israel's northern border with Hezbollah terrorist attacks. Additionally, there was a HUGE explosion that rocked Beirut last week, killing over 150 people, wounded at least 5,000,and leaving approximately 300,000 Beirut residents homeless. The Lebanese authorities are blaming the explosion on mismanagement by port officials, but many believe it was the result of Hezbollah negligence. Interestingly enough, Israeli PM Benyamin Netanyahu warned the world almost two years ago about the Hezbollah hiding missiles in Beirut when he held up a placard with a map showing Hezbollah precision missile sites hidden in populated areas. Since the explosion, there have been large demonstrations by its citizenry, some of which have turned violent, with government ministry buildings being taken over and fires set. Lebanon's minister of information announced her resignation amidst these protests. And a report from the UK's 'The SUN', headlines that Lebanon’s president knew about the huge explosives stockpile, weeks before the blast. So what is really going on, and what danger does the Hezbollah hold for Israel? Tamar speaks with IDF Lieutenant Colonel (Res.) Sarit Zehavi, CEO and founder of Alma – a nonprofit and an independent research and education center specialized in Israel’s security challenges on its northern border. Sarit has briefed hundreds of groups and forums, ranging from US Senators, Congressmen and other politicians, to senior journalists and visiting VIP groups in Israel and overseas. Rod Reuven Dovid Bryen and Jerry Gordon bring back Dan Diker, Senior Fellow and Director of the Program to Counter Political Warfare at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA). Diker authored a recent JCPA brief, “The Alignment of BDS and Black Lives Matter: Implications for Israel and Diaspora Jewry”. Diker also appeared on a recent Jewish Broadcasting Service discussion program moderated by Rabbi Marc Golub with Joshua Washington, the young American Assistant Director of the Institute for Black Solidarity for Israel that promotes the pro-Zionist legacy of the late revered American civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King and Rev. Ralph Abernathy. American Jews, as Diker notes, had fought for Black civil rights as abolitionists in the 19th Century and the 1960’s culminating in the historic passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act under President Johnson. American Jews have actively and publicly opposed racism and police brutality.
Diker’s JCPA brief exposed the disturbing trends converging between BLM and BDS that he suggests had its origins in the 2014 Iranian regime backed Hamas rocket and terror tunnel war against Israel. The rise of BLM was triggered by the killings of Black young men Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012 and Michael Brown in 2014 in Ferguson. Missouri. Recently, the BLM campaign was “turbo-charged” by the murder on May 25, 2020 of George Floyd while in the custody of a Minneapolis Police Officer sparking daily protests and violence that quickly spread across the US. The Movement for Black Lives (MBL) A BLM Network member organization, has openly accused Israel of being a racist Apartheid state. It connected Israel’s “occupation” in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority meme that the Jewish nation was “born in sin” with US state racism, imperialism, and fascism. Minister Louis Farrakhan, a spiritual guide and role model for BLM activists and sympathizers, has labeled Jews “Satan”. MBL’s radical solution is to “take down” the US government, while defunding and dismantling police departments across the United States. Diker noted the launch of a petition by University of California Students accusing Israel of “complicity’ in the murder of George Floyd due to US law enforcement agencies’ participation in a 2012 program in Israel on counterterrorism intelligence sharing.
Diker suggests that these accusations are completely unfounded. Moreover, BDS and Palestinian activist rhetoric accusing Israel of imperialism and colonialism is straight out of the Marxist-Leninist playbook. In fact, Israel is a result of Zionist de-colonialization, resettling the Jewish homeland after the fall of the 400-year Ottoman empire. He pointed to a recent article in the Cambridge Journal of Race Ethnicity of Politics, “What Kind of Movement is Black Lives Matter? The view from twitter”. Diker commented: This superb research on BLM reveals that the movement rejects the “politics of respectability” of Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement”. This is dangerous for the Palestinian issue as it rejects inclusion, and instead advocates a political replacement theology.
Diker endorsed the work of Joshua Washington of the Institute for Black Solidarity for Israel, the son of Pastor Dumasani Washington, a California pastor, and a leading figure in the organization Christians United for Israel. Washington is also a next generation acolyte of Dr. King, a proud supporter of Israel and Zionism until his tragic assassination in 1968.
Joshua Washington is a co-author of the JCPA compendium,” Israelophobia, and the West”, that we previewed on a prior program with Diker. Washington’s wife, Olga Meshoe Washington, is the daughter of Kenneth Meshoe, a leading member of the South African parliament and a staunch supporter of Israel. Diker and Washington are working on a Black America-Israel coalition as a counterweight to the radical discourse of the BLM leadership. They hope to restore the solidarity between the Jewish and Black American communities given the split within the Black community over Israel and BLM’s Marxist discourse.
On the matter of progressive-turned radical Israel critic Peter Beinart and his recent trashing of Israel’s existence as the nation state of the Jewish people in a July 2020 article in Jewish Currents, and comedian Josh Rogen’s rejection of the Jewish state both signify a dangerous development. Their major influence over young American Jewish millennials results in the mainstreamed idea that millennials increasingly reject the Jewish state’s existence merely because, “Israel has been unable to solve the 100-year Palestinian Israeli conflict.”
Regretfully, Beinart willfully overlooks or is ignorant of Islamic doctrine that rejects a non-Muslim sovereign polity in the Middle East. Diker notes the Palestinian rejection of 10 consecutive offers since 1936 for Palestinian Arab sovereignty; 6 offers alone under the failed Oslo Accords since 2000. Diker accuses the so-called Pro Israel, Pro Israel J Street of undermining Israel and Diaspora Jewry by fostering and encouraging hatred of Israel while lobbying members of the US House of Representatives to condemn or harshly criticize policy moves of Israeli governments.
Josh Rogen, whose parents met on a Socialist Kibbutz in Israel before returning to Vancouver where their son was brought up, is reflective of the growing disconnection between American Jews and Israel. Diker traces the origins of that tension and growing alienation of American Jews in part to the 1982 Lebanon war that was perceived as more “offensive” than “defensive” in the United States.
Regarding the daily violent protests in Israel, Diker believes they are not connected exclusively to the coronavirus Pandemic. Rather they are an effort led by former PM Ehud Barak and others on the left who want to force the resignation of PM Netanyahu. They do not accept the result of the last election of Netanyahu as the democratically elected Prime Minister of the National Emergency Coalition government. He emphasized the comparison between the once predominant Labor led coalition in 1992 with 44 mandates. Today Labor is polling under the minimum four mandate threshold. It has two members in the current coalition that creates a tsunami like turmoil in frustrated segments of the Israeli public who have witnessed the Oslo peace “promise” disintegrate into 20 years of PLO and Hamas supported terror and political warfare. The Israel left has never drawn the necessary lessons of their political failures. Now, the Israeli Left is taking them out on the Israel’s rightful PM Netanyahu in his fourth consecutive government since 2009.

Jamshid Sharmahd - a name you have probably never heard of before, is an Iranian revolutionary supporter working out of America, trying to OUST the present Islamic regime in Iran. The Islamic Iranian government terms him a 'terrorist', and some are saying that they may have lured him to Dubai, and then kidnapped him into Iranian custody. He may be tortured, and quite possibly hanged. What are Jamshid Sharmahd and many other 'revolutionary' Iranian citizens trying to do, and what other important insights into future relations with Iran can happen following any collapse of the current Islamic regime? Tamar speaks with Dr. Daniel Dana, an Iranian now living in Israel, and founder of PLIM or 'Peace and Love International Movement' to bring the message of peace and love between the nations of Israel and Iran.

Now that we have left the days of mourning behind us and come into the days of comfort, tonight we will celebrate the minor holiday of Tu B'Av. The 15th of Av has a connection to biblical times as well as a connection to a modern world. In some ways it is viewed as the Israeli version of Valentine's Day. What do the Jewish sources teach us about this little known holiday and what we can learn about love and elevation?

On July 22, 2020, a stunning announcement was reported by the Jewish Press about a new archaeological discovery by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) in Arnona near the US Embassy in Jerusalem. It was the uncovering of a vast administrative center in Judea built during the reign of King Hezekiah with seals attesting to the ancient Jewish presence during the First Temple period between the eighth and the middle of the seventh century B.C.E.
IAA archaeologist Benyamin Storchan in a Jerusalem Post report noted: “We found about 120 stamped seal impressions on jar handles written in ancient Hebrew script, which translate as ‘belonging to the king.’ These stamped jars were usually related to tax collection. Up to this day, 1,000 similar items have been found in over a century of excavations in Israel, which gives us an idea of the importance of this area”.
In 2019, the City of David Foundation announced discovery of seals of legendary King David’s son. Lawrence Franklin noted in a Gatestone Institute article:
“On September 9, 2019 , the foundation’s leading archaeologist, Eli Shukron, announced the discovery of a 2,600-year-old royal seal, found near the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, which bears the name (in Hebrew) of Adenyahu, a son of King David mentioned in the biblical book of Kings”.
As has been true with previous archaeological discoveries in Israel, however, this one is unlikely to put a dent in the long-term international campaign to delegitimize the Jewish state by rewriting and distorting its history, even by renaming the Jewish sites Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem to “Bilal ibn Rabah mosque” (it was never a mosque) and Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs the Ibrahimi Mosque.
The delegitimizations of the ancient Jewish presence in Jerusalem began in the Seventh Century C.E. by Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan - the fifth caliph of the Umayyad dynasty of Syria— who built the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. That was placed over the legendary site where Jews believe Abraham was poised to sacrifice his son Isaac. Fast forward to July 2000 and the Camp David Peace Talks under the auspices of former President Clinton between then Israeli PM Ehud Barak and the late PA President Yasser Arafat. Arafat disputed the Jews building the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, instead suggesting they may have been in Nablus.
These important Israeli archaeological discoveries make the case for ancient Jewish rights to the Land of Israel. It is the major theme of a new book published by the NER Press written by University of Central Florida Professor Dr. Kenneth L. Hanson, Whose Holy Land? Archaeology Meets Geopolitics in Today’s Middle East, which was the subject of a wide-ranging Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix interview with Jerry Gordon and Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant.
Dr. Ken Hanson is the coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Program and Judaic Studies at the University of Central Florida. He has taught the history, literature, and cultural legacy of the Jewish people from antiquity to the modern rise of the State of Israel. He has lived in Jerusalem and the Northern Galilee. He earned a master’s degree in International Intercultural Communications and went on to earn a doctorate in Hebrew and Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. He has published multiple books on these topics. He has been on national television and syndicated radio, History Channel, Travel Channel, and the Gaia Network. He holds unique insights on the question of why Israeli Jewish heritage is proven by archaeology.
Dr. Ken Hanson’s new book uniquely covers two “Holy Lands,” two Israels, two Jerusalems. The one above ground, that pilgrims see on tour, boasts historic buildings and majestic architecture. Another is below ground and is much more mysterious. This is where we find evidence of who lived in this land thousands of years ago and a "narrative in stone," supporting the Jewish people who lay claim to it today. As the Middle East continues to be the flashpoint of global conflict, the “facts underground” could hardly be more relevant.
When asked how significant the archaeological evidence of the three Millennia Jewish presence in Israel is, Dr. Hanson replied:
“It is everywhere. Somebody said, “You want to learn about America, take a book. You want to learn about the land of Israel, take a shovel.” You dig down and from Jericho to Shechem to Nablus, which is currently a Palestinian city, that is sitting on top of an area that was Jewish. Joseph’s Tomb, Rachel’s tomb, Bethlehem, it is everywhere. All you must do is look. There are ongoing archaeological digs, that are controversial. Beyond that, there are Jews who desire to live in these places where you have an historical Jewish presence for thousands of years. Settlements have gone up, some of which have been deemed illegal by the international community. What? It is illegal for Jews to live in their own land. If you are Jewish, you cannot live in Hebron”.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that this is the goal of the Palestinian Authority. When a Palestinian state should ever arise in this land, all Jews must leave. The Jewish settlers and settlements must be dismantled. They must leave. Palestine must be judenrein. If they do not leave, what would be the fate of the settlers who have the audacity simply to want to live near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, where Abraham, at least in tradition, is buried, the other patriarchs and the matriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob? Not a pleasant one. It would not be possible”.
“That is what is so terribly controversial because there are many on the Palestinian side who do not acknowledge that Jews ever lived in the land of Israel. This is the extent of the propaganda that goes forth, even to school children who grow up in the Palestinian Authority. They argue: “The Jews came here as colonialists in the 19th and 20th centuries C.E., there were no Jews in this land prior to that”.

We are in the three weeks, the period between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av. This is a time of mourning in Judaism, the culmination of which takes place on the 9th of Av when we mourn the destruction of both holy temples. It is considered a time of diminished joy, however, there are teachings from the Arizal and Rebbe Nachman related to redemption and the world to come, which are both times of joy. How do we reconcile having joy during a time of diminished joy, and what in the world does this have to do with “skeletons in the closet?”

Tisha B'Av is a difficult day. It's a day of fasting and sadness when we are supposed to feel the loss of the Beit Hamikdash. Yet, it's a day that is hard to relate to as I never experienced life with the Beit Hamikdash that I am mourning and therefore have a hard time fully relating to the loss. Tisha B'Av is a day to mourn many tragedies throughout Jewish history and as real as those tragedies are, how can I personally relate to them and make this day of sadness meaningful?
Many can relate to wanting to get through the day as quickly as possible, yet it is in learning how to face sadness, grief and tragedy that the keys to a life of true joy can be found.

The Middle East is witnessing a new form of kinetic cyber warfare that has dramatically set back Iran’s nuclear program. Dr. Stephen Bryen, former Reagan era Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Technology and Security, noted military technologist and Asia Times columnist calls it “Son of Stuxnet”. That is a reference to the joint US-Israel malworm virus attack in 2009 -2010 on the Natanz enriched uranium cascade facility that destroyed an estimated 1,000 of 5,000 centrifuges. The difference this time was the cyber-attacks may have generated explosions. Natanz was hit on July 2, 2020 by an explosion that destroyed the equipment and facilities for producing the current generation of advanced centrifuges. That according to David Albright of the Washington, DC-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) may have set back Iran’s nuclear weapons development by 2 plus years and even longer.
Bryen said that this round of cyber kinetic warfare was initiated “when Iran cyberattacked Israel’s water supply system on April 24 and 25, 2020. The water facility attack was intended to release large amounts of poisonous chlorine into Israel’s water delivery infrastructure, potentially poisoning tens of thousands of Israelis. Israel responded by temporarily disabled the Iranian Shahid Rajaee port (Bandar Abbas) in the Straits of Hormuz.”
More explosive events followed in late June and the first two weeks of July. Bryen noted these events:
• On June 26, a building in the solid fuel assembly plant of the Khojir Missile facility, which also deals with nuclear warhead designs, exploded with such force that it was seen 70 Kms. away. At the same time, an explosion and fire destroyed the power plant servicing the city of Shiraz, plunging it into darkness. • On June 30, explosions ripped through the sub-basement levels of the Sinna medical center in Tehran killing 13. • On July 2, an explosion, claimed by an unknown opposition group, the Panthers of the Nation, ripped apart the new centrifuge assembly building in the Natanz nuclear center. The Iranian regime has all but admitted this is a major setback to its enrichment program. The same night, a major complex exploded and burned in Shiraz. • On July 3, an enormous fire erupted in the northwest part of Shiraz in an unknown location and facility. The same night, another large fire destroyed an unknown facility in Salmas near Tehran. • On July 4, a fire and explosion in southwest Iran in the predominantly Sunni Arab province of Ahvaz destroyed the power plant. At about the same time, the Karoun Petrochemical plant failed and released what was claimed to be chlorine gas sending about six dozen to the hospital. • Early on July 7, a powerful explosion engulfed a warehouse or factory of unknown use in Beqarshahr south of Tehran. This is the same vicinity in which the Israelis two years ago seized Iran’s nuclear archives, namely Turouzabad- Kahrizak, and in which Israel and the IAEA suspect also was a major nuclear warehouse.
Bryen said the most significant cyber kinetic attack was against the Natanz centrifuge production facility. That was borne out in the post attack damage assessment made by ISIS. It concluded: “Although the explosion and fire at the Iran Centrifuge Assembly Center does not eliminate Iran’s ability to deploy advanced centrifuges, its destruction must be viewed as a major setback to Iran’s ability to deploy advanced centrifuges on a mass scale for years to come. “This was a crown jewel of their program,” Albright of ISIS said.
The implications are significant. Note what renowned Middle East Expert David Wurmser said in a Bloomberg article by Eli Lake: “The more Iran’s government looks impotent, and the impression is left the Israelis are everywhere, the more high-level Iranian officials will calibrate their survival by cooperating with Americans or Israelis, which itself creates an intelligence bonanza”.
Here are some of the takeaways from the Bryen interview.
Vulnerability of Israeli and US Critical Infrastructure.
US and Israeli water, power, petroleum and gas processing, and manufacturing systems rely on the use of the (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) SCADA systems which are vulnerable to cyber-attack. In 2016, Iran cyber warriors attacked controls on a water dam reservoir in suburban Westchester County, New York. Attacks on the national electrical grid in California in 2014 demonstrated its susceptibility to terrorist and cyber-attacks. Bryen said these attacks by a state sponsor of terrorism could be a “causus belli”.
Importance of Plausible deniability in Cyber Warfare.
Bryen suggests that Israel has been “brilliant” in conducting sophisticated covert and cyber kinetic operations by using in-country assets and highly trained commandos to set up ‘sleeper’ explosions. This was amplified in remarks by former Vice Chief of Staff and Fox News Analyst General Jack Keane: “Keane thought the alleged strikes were ‘a smart strategy’ on the part of Israel. If you accept the objective that we don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons with missiles that can deliver them, then the strategy the Israelis are doing, likely with at least the moral support of the US, is fairly savvy because it gives the Israelis deniability,” he explained.
The Footprints of Israel in the original Stuxnet.
The 2009-2010 Stuxnet malworm virus, Bryen noted, was imported into the Natanz facility, and spread by “Bluetooth” infecting the Siemens PCS-7 SCADA and programmable controllers that spun the centrifuges out of control. In the encrypted code of Stuxnet was the term ‘My RTUs” meaning Myrtle- the Hebrew for Hadassah or Esther. There was also the code that triggered the spinning of centrifuges out of control: 19790509. That was the date of the execution of the leader of the Iranian Jewish community, Habib Elghanian, the head of the Tehran Persian Jewish Community. His death started the large wave of Iranian Jewish immigration.
Also discussed in the Bryen interview was the parallel launch of the Israeli Ofek16 satellite with more powerful cameras and sensors to provide intelligence on Iranian and proxy threats in the region. Bryen noted the success of an Alaska test of the Israeli Arrow ABM system able to attack ICBMs during launch phase which he gave a “B+” rating versus a poor one for the US Ground Based Mid-Course Interceptors.

From 2012 to 2018, an estimated $10 billion in donations to US colleges and universities by foreign governments fueled radical Islamism and conducted espionage and theft of intellectual property. The USDOE in 2019 announced investigation of donations to US colleges and universities by China, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Investigations by the Clarion Project into additional disclosures filed by US colleges and universities after the USDOE announcement revealed that more than $1 billion of foreign donations were not reported under US law creating a “black hole” as to what were nefarious purposes of these foreign country donors.
In February 2020, the USDOE reported that both Harvard and Yale failed to report four years of more than $375 million in foreign donations and contracts. All US college and universities receiving federal higher education funding are required to report foreign donations over the amount of $250,000.
Ryan Mauro, Clarion Project Director of their National Intelligence Network, Shillman Research Fellow, and co-author of this report revealed more in this Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix interview with Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon. The Clarion Project is a private non-profit entity founded in 2007. It is noted for its documentary series on radical Islamism, investigations of extremists, policy analysis and work with US counterterrorism and law enforcement agencies. Ryan cited the role of China’s Confucius Institute and Thousand Talents programs actively engaged in conducting espionage and sponsorship of US professors at Chinese laboratories essentially stealing applied research intellectual property. Note this glaring example.
On January 2, 2020, a Harvard University expert in nanotechnology, Charles Lieber, Chairman of the University’s Chemistry department and two Chinese researchers were arrested by the FBI. Lieber was accused of lying about receiving millions of dollars in Chinese funding misleading the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Institutes of Health about his participation in China’s Thousand Talents Plan while those U.S. agencies were spending more than $15 million to fund his research group in this country. Yanqing Ye, a Boston University robotics researcher, who prosecutors said lied about being in the Chinese army, and Zaosong Zheng, a cancer researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center who was arrested allegedly trying to smuggle research samples out of the US.
Ryan drew attention to the activities of Qatar, a state sponsor of islamist terrorism, funding programs at Northwestern University, creating a campus in Doha, helping expansion of Al Jazeera in the US. Ryan reported:
“The Clarion Project found that the school had received at least $340 million from Qatar since 2012.
The terror-tied “charity,” the Qatar Foundation, funded the establishment of a Northwestern University campus in Qatar. According to the school’s own published words, the purpose was to assist Al-Jazeera, the most influential extremist news network in the Middle East.
Qatar has even funded at least one inflammatory Northwestern University professor, Justin Martin.
In September 2019, the president of Northwestern University publicly condemned a tweet by Martin on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks. “Happy 9/11. more than 8,441 civilians died in Yemen this year helped by US arms deal with Saudi Arabia & UAE. The US is complicit in far more terror than it has ever suffered,” Martin wrote.
Clarion Project made another illuminating discovery: Professor Martin had received two huge grants from the Qatar Foundation totaling over $1.3 million since 2014.
The wide-ranging Israel News Talk Radio -Beyond the Matrix interview with Mauro of the Clarion Project addressed the dangers behind the shadowy Antifa movement, Black Lives Matter intersectionality with anti-Israel BDS and Marxist separatists.
Here were some takeaways from those discussions.
Antifa domestic terror group
Antifa espouses anarchism, violence and property damage captured in its Facebook posts and chat rooms. Ironically, it hates conservative “right wing” Democrat figures such as former President Obama and presumptive Democrat Presidential Candidate Former Vice President, Joe Biden. It stokes right wing actions in the cause of revolution against all governments. Antifa – meaning ‘anti-fascist’ A recent Clarion webinar with Andrew C. McCarthy, former Assistant US Attorney at the Southern District Court in Manhattan, who prosecuted the Egyptian Blind Sheik (Omar Abdel Rahman) and 11 other jihadi terrorists for their part in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and plots to bomb other New York City landmarks. The discussion revealed the difficulty of designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist group. It can only be prosecuted for lawful crimes. “McCarthy noted: The law is not fixated on how organized a group is (for example, compare the Mafia, which is highly structured, to Antifa, which is a decentralized group), but whether it is organized to violate the law.
When asked about the confusion over Antifa being “anti-fascist” and using a moniker to gain moral and financial support, McCarthy warned about the “exquisite” use of language these groups use to gain cover for their violence. He compares the better-known example of CAIR, who are “very shrewd about wrapping themselves in American civil rights.”
Black Lives Matter intersectionality rhetoric and anti-Israel Populist-Socialist “progressives”
Mauro faults the mainstream media for not reporting on most peaceful protesters rejecting anarchy, revolution, and property damage. Memes like “Defund Police” are the war cries of anarchists used to foment Communist revolutions. It is imperative to assist peaceful protesters by isolating ideologues who want to bring down the US system of government. Progressives like US Representatives Rashid Tlaib, llhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attract anti-Israel populist socialist supporters who are not interested in national security. They are viewed by their supporters as having ‘authenticity”, say what they ‘believe’, that provokes angry responses. Many of their accusations are misleading and fraudulent. Ironic, as Israel is a modern progressive democracy.

This week Rabbi Yitzchak and William discuss the period known as the "Three Weeks." It is the period between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av. This is a time of great mourning in Judaism as a result of the great calamities that took place on these dates and during this period. Corona is casting a giant shadow over all aspects of life.
Even though the market may have begun to recover from its initial crash, nothing is smooth sailing.
If you are too nervous to invest in the stock market now, bonds may look more enticing.
While an expanded bond portfolio may lower your exposure to stock market risk, it may be difficult to invest in bonds when rates are low.
The U.S. Fed set interest rates to about zero. If the interest rates on bonds is low, the government can borrow more money without paying so much interest. This way Uncle Sam can borrow enough money to pay out the money it promised in the economic stimulus package to its citizens.
Far-sighted companies may also borrow money at low rates, looking to fund future projects with what can seem like “free money.”
Even with low interest rates, there are reasons to invest in bonds and other fixed-income investments. Listen for an explanation of specific strategies using bonds for diversification and corporate bonds.

Turkey is bombing Christians, Yazidis, and Kurds in the northwest Iraq autonomous region. A Turkish drone strike in the Sulaymaniyah Province killed three civilians. A bomb dropped in the attack landed in a resort near three children and parents in a river. Erdogan says he is “only attacking PKK bases” in the Kurdish autonomous region. Turkish forces occupy 60 villages in the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq. The reality is Erdogan is attacking civilians pursuing a plan to annex areas that Turkey held during the Ottoman Empire. “Turkey is today’s Nazi Germany. Erdogan believes that a Good Kurd is a Dead Kurd”, says Diliman Abdulkader, co-founder and chief spokesperson for American Friends of Kurdistan.
Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon of Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix brought back Abdulkader, who was born in Kirkuk, a disputed territory in northern Iraq, and with his family spent several years in the UN Al-Hol refugee camp before being resettled in the US. Abdulkader earned an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, DC. The Al-Hol camp, as he points out in this interview holds the very problematic 75,000 to 80,000 former ISIS fighters and families that home countries, especially in Europe do not want to repatriate.
Abdulkader previously headed EMET’s Kurdistan project. He has experience on Capitol Hill with Administration agencies as an effective advocate and educator for Kurdish independence and the reliability of Kurds as loyal US allies. As Abdulkader points out the Kurds in the Kurdistan autonomous region are divided. The Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) led by the Barzani clan has economic relations with Erdogan’s AKP-led autocratic government and likely supplies intelligence to Turkey on PKK bases in the autonomous region. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) group is led by the Talabani clan of Sulaymaniyah which has closer relations and a border with Iran. Yet, the PUK shares ties with the Syrian Kurds – YPG, YPJ forces. Erdogan accuses them of being an extension of the Turkey-based Kurdistan Workers Party, the PKK, that the US and others have designated a ‘terrorist’ group.
The division of the Kurds, as Abdulkader argues, allows host countries like Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, to ‘play’ them resulting in some Kurdish populations in those countries rejecting autonomy, instead of an independent polity. That has been a long cherished objective promised over 100 years ago during the Versailles peace treaty discussions but denied in 1923 under the Treaty of Lausanne establishing the Turkish Republic.
In a recent "Washington Examiner" article, Abdulkader pointed out that US “status quo policies in Iraq since 2003 have cost US taxpayers $2 trillion dollars and more than 4,500 US military lives producing a failed State”. He argues that it is time to “step away from Baghdad and invest in the Kurdish autonomous region as the Kurds are pro-US”. It would in his view be “the best result for US taxpayers”.
In a companion, "National Interest", article, Abdulkader discussed the importance of renewing US ties with Syrian Kurds. That, he believes is the possibility of current US unity talks with Syrian Kurdish factions to “establish long term ties”. The objective would be to bring the Syrian Kurds “to the international table in Geneva” and put “all (Syrian) Kurdish factions on one side” – the PYD and the KDP- led ENKS group, as the latter has ties to Erdogan. Erdogan wants these talks to fail to prevent north east Syria from becoming another Kurdish autonomous zone like the KRG in Iraq. As Abdulkader suggests, more “troops on the ground is not the solution”. The existing 600 US troops in Syria have been leveraged by the performance of the Kurdish -led Syrian Democratic Forces.
In regard to the Kurds in the Kurdistan Region, they want a greater US role to assist in institution building and creating transparency in governance to tackle corruption. Abdulkader believes there is a healing process going on between the Syrian Kurds and the US. This despite the revelations about Kurdish relations in former Trump National Security Adviser, Ambassador John Bolton’s Memoir, "The Room where it all Happened". This history covers the US withdrawal from Syria, the inaction in Kirkuk against Iran-backed Iraqi Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces and failure to counter Turkish and jihadist allies ethnic cleansing of the former largely Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northwest Syria. Abdulkader also cites the role of US Ambassador James Jeffrey for siding with Erdogan’s agenda for much of the problems.
We discussed Ambassador Bolton’s revelation in his memoir about the failure to form a multi-national force to monitor Turkish and Jihadist allies’ activities in the so-called northeastern border ‘safe zone’ with Turkey. Abdulkader notes while “preferable as an alternative” the realities were the EU allies could not raise troops and rely on US commitments. Moreover, the multi-national force needed to have Turkey withdraw from the safe zone. A further complication was Turkey’s membership in NATO. NATO, as Abdulkader pointed out was “silent” on the incursion in Syria and the recent drone attacks in the Sulaymaniyah province in the Iraqi Kurdish autonomous zone.
On the matter of the effectiveness of the US Congressional Kurdish American Caucus, Abdulkader indicated it is only activated in reaction to crises. The long-term solution, Abdulkader suggests is education on Kurdish aspirations in the Middle East, the building of a common agenda to achieve independence with transparency in governance and demonstration of reliability as a US ally equivalent to that of Israel.

Then, terror on the eighth night of Chanukah: Chaim Silberstein's daughter and husband survived miraculously - but the baby, and other victims, did not make it. The Jihadist murderer now received four life sentences - but has justice been fully served? Finally, get ready to laugh with Malkah Fleisher: thumbs down on Boris Johnson, and the announcement of Sovereignty Day!

Doug Goldstein, CFP®, cross-border financial advisor, discusses with Doug McCormick, author of Family, Inc., how to be the CFO of your family. He believes that we should take a big picture holistic approach starting with our biggest asset which is labor (your salary) when planning the family’s finances. As time progresses, all aspects of the family’s financial picture should be included, but the big focus is on lifetime earning potential. Should I set up a trust? If so, who should I choose as the trustee?
Doug talks about the origin of trusts and some of the benefits that a trust can create. Learn the roles of the settlor, the trustee, and the beneficiary and how to choose the right trustee to manage and maintain your trust and your finances.
An essential component to any healthy relationship is trust. What is at the core of this trait and how can we develop it within ourselves and our relationships? How can one learn to trust again when they have been hurt in the past? How can a breach of trust be effectively restored in an ongoing relationship that is in sore need of transformation? The answer to these questions is the key to building and maintaining healthy relationships.
Listen to Soul Talk and learn from Rabbi David Aaron how to Build Trust: From Being Right to Making Right!
