Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon bring back intrepid American author and Middle East war correspondent, Ken Timmerman, author, most recently, of “ISIS begins; a novel of the Iraq War” to address the threat to Israel and the Middle East of Islamist hegemonic Iran. As we banter with Timmerman engaging in some Purim Shpiel, the revelations from his interview are deadly serious. We noted that the Tomb of Esther and Mordechai is in Hamadan, Iran. We briefly discussed the significance of the Jewish victory over the agagite Haman- a descendent of Amalek - with the aid of tipsy Ahasuerus with Queen Esther and Uncle Mordechai chronicled in the megillah. Timmerman, author of “Preachers of Hate” noted the perennial Islamic hatred of Jews from both Sunni and Shi’ite schools that appears unfortunately to have found its way via the Protocols of the Elders of Zion forgery into the US Congress from elected Muslim Congressional representatives: Tlaib of Michigan and Omar of Minnesota. Timmerman drew attention to the significance of the recent visit by Iranian President Rouhani to Iraq indicative of the hegemonic aspirations to complete the Shi’ite land bridge via Iraq and Syria to Lebanon and the Mediterranean. That was reflected in the 100,000 Shi’ite militias already in Syria from Iraq’s Hash Al Shaabi Popular Mobilization Units, Afghan and Pakistani groups, as well as the IRGC. Timmerman specifically noted the Iraqi Shi’ite Hezbollah terror cell ranging near Israel’s Golan frontier. He pointed out the threats of joint Turkish Iran operations against alleged PKK and Iranian Kurdish resistance forces bases in the Qandil Mountains of Northern Iraq that he visited. He deemed it unlikely the US footprint in both Syria and Iraq would shrink noting not only the 5,500 US troops at al-Sad in Western Iraq on the Syrian border, but the major air and counterterrorism forces at the US founded base in Jordan that may replace the disputed NATO air base at Incirlik, Turkey. Timmerman also cited revelations in a recent EuroObserver article that appeared to confirm what many observed may have been a faux coup by Erdogan in July 2016 used to justify the purge of secular and Kurdish opposition in Turkey and detention of over 150,000. The recent ‘accidental ‘Fajr rocket attack from Gaza towards Tel Aviv triggering a massive IAF retaliatory attack Timmerman said was indicative of how Iran supports both the PIJ and Hamas. He referred to his 2006 experience interviewing both Hamas and PIJ in Gaza and Hezbollah indicative of the Islamist mindset of suicide bombers marinating in Jew hatred ideology from birth. Timmerman discussed the fascinating back story of how the Qaddafi nuclear deal with the US that he witnessed in 2004 enabled the US and Israel to destabilize Iran’s nuclear enrichment centrifuges via the Stuxnet malworm. Timmerman will be the featured speaker at B’nai Israel Synagogue in Pensacola, Florida on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon bring back Dilliman Abdulbaker, Kurdistan Project Director of Washington, DC-based Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET) for an update on the looming fall of the last slice of the self-declared Caliphate held by diehard ISIS fighters in Baghouz, Syria. Abdulbaker presented a cautiously optimistic picture of US Congressional awareness of the problems faced by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Force (SDF) as upwards of 30,000 ISIS fighters have fled Syria for Iraq. Others have inserted themselves in the streams of 50,000 refugees fleeing to the Al-Hol UN High Commission Refuge Camp in northeastern Syria placing an additional burden on SDF and remaining US forces in Syria screening for possible sleeper cells. He noted the recent Congressional testimony by US Central Command commander General Votel stressing that ISIS is not yet defeated. SDF opposes Turkish safe zone inside Syria. That signaled that US troops may remain in Manbij, along the Euphrates River and at the strategic bastion of Al-Tanf in Southern Syria near the Jordanian, Iraqi and Israeli Golan frontiers. We discussed comments by National Security Adviser John Bolton about ‘progress’ with UK, French and German NATO and Global alliance partners like Australia that would like to build up a ‘footprint’ of 2,000 for the proposed force engaged in protection of the Kurdish-held northeastern Syria. We noted that the additional of an equivalent number of ‘consultants might bring the total complement to 4,000. Abdulkader indicated that from his discussions with Congressional members of Foreign Affairs Committees that they understood that the SDF should maintain existing US coalition supplied air coverage, retention of heavy weapons and modernization of weapons, the latter objected to by Erdogan’s Turkey. The problem of what to do about foreign ISIS fighters and families captured by the SDF remains a complicating factor in planning for the US-led coalition. Abdulkader turned to the problem of ISIS fighters attacking Iranian-controlled Hashd al Shaabi Popular Mobilization Units in Iraq and demands by Shi’ite Parliament members and Baghdad government officials for removal of 5,500 US troops at the Al-Asad base near Syrian border. The fall of the ISIS caliphate could mean a resurgent ISIS. Couple that with Iran perfecting its Shi’ite land bridge in the visit of President Rouhani to Baghdad opposing the US presence in Iraq. Then there are threats with Turkey, Russia, Iran and Assad in Syria.

Witness the 18 months in prison served by former PM Ehud Olmert. Hoffman explains the complicated party - list Israeli democracy that has 45 parties competing for 120 seats in the Knesset. He notes that less than 10 parties will have standing above the required 3.25% of votes cast. Hoffman dismisses the concerns of American Jews over the Likud coalition linking up with Otzma Yehudit (OY), which has been called ‘racist’ allegedly following the anti-Arab precepts of Kahanist Rabbi Meir Kahane. Not the case. OY doesn’t discriminate against Arabs or wish to deport them except for terrorists.

Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon of Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix, bring back American ex-pat and writer based in Paris to update the popular insurrection of the French gilets jaune, “Yellow Vests”. She had revealed that this wasn’t a populist movement. On the surface it was a demand for greater purchasing power on the part of an aggrieved minority. But on a deeper level is was a movement powered by hatred of the rich and ultimately Jew hatred. “Yellow Vests” posted signs along French highway that Macron “is a prostitute for the Jews”, as he had been a banker for Rothschild et cie in Paris. The irony is that Macron is a boy from the Provinces who was bright enough to make it into the elite became the object of scorn of the “Yellow Vests”. The deeper message conveyed by the “Yellow Vests” was they want what Chavez and Maduro created in Venezuela- tyranny of the street propelled by violence. Poller said the “Yellow Vests” movement has rapidly diminished over the 15 weekly protests since mid-November 2018 from an estimated 300,000 to less than 50,000 currently. It is a rapidly diminishing minority in France. Yet, Macron undertook to address their grievances cutting the gas tax and increasing bonuses that cost the French economy more than 10 Billion Euros. The “yellow vests” retorted, “not Enough! it’s peanuts”. What the “yellow vests’ really want, according to Poller is to do away with representative democratic government. The vehicle for achieving that she says is totalitarian violence giving power to the street. She said this has happened repeatedly from the French Revolution to the Bolshevik seizure of power in Russia and the Chavismo movement in Venezuela that bankrupted what was once the wealthier country in Latin America that is now in chaos. Poller noted that the leader of the extreme leftist party, ‘Unbowed France’, Jean-Luc Melanchon is an outspoken admirer of Venezuelan Chavismo, as is Marine Le Pen of the extreme right, National Rally. She notes that leaders of these French extremist parties attacking the rich, are themselves wealthy. When queried about how these roiling developments in France caused by the “yellow vests” insurrection might impact on the looming May 2019 Eu Parliamentary elections, Poller cited recent poll figures that indicate that President Macron’s party led with 23 Percent, followed by Marine Le Pen’s National Rally with 20 with Melanchon’s ‘Chavista’ Unbowed France at 8 percent. She criticized Le Pen for having done nothing for France while a Member of the EU Parliament and is current under investigation for payroll irregularities of her staff. She illustrated how fractured the “Yellow Vests” movement has become given the case of one of its former leading figures, red haired, single mother and nurse’s aide, Ingrid Levavasseur. She was threatened with death by fellow “Yellow Vests” for daring to form a new party for the EU parliamentary elections, the Citizens led Rally. She had to be rescued by police from being accosted by “yellow vest” protesters at a recent Sunday rally. Poller then turned to Eric Drouet, he 33-year-old truck driver and de facto leader of the “yellow vests” who provocation turned the gas tax issue it into the violent insurrection, arrested by French police in January. He had broadcast videos from his truck agreeing that the French government was run by Jews and that Zionists should be punished. That she said was evidence of the infiltration of the “Yellow Vests” by the Jihadists among the Muslim community. They simply want Islamic conquest of the French Democracy. The worst example was the video that went viral of renowned French Jewish public intellectual Alain Finkielkraut being accosted by a “yellow vest” convert to Islam screaming “filthy Jew go back to Zion”. Finkielkraut is an admired member of the Académie Francaise, son of Holocaust survivor and victims. Poller gave a sense of the views of those she met at the massive “That’s Enough” rally at the Place de la Republique in Paris. They were sincere in their opposition to the violent anti-Semitism of the “yellow vests” protesters indicative of the 80 percent of the French. She believes that Macron has done well in handling the National Debate over the “Yellow Vests” insurrection. However, she said that he has difficulty coming to gripes with the underlying problem in France and Western democracies: the defense against Islamic Jihad without engaging in hate of Muslims.

Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon interview Diliman Abdulkader, Director of the Kurdistan Project of the Washington, DC-based Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET) on resolution of the impasse on protection of Syrian Kurdish allies in the wake of President Trump’s mid -December call for withdrawal of US troops from Syria. That call was predicated on the imminent, yet unconfirmed collapse of ISIS resistance in Eastern Syria. Abdulkader is an American Kurd born in Kirkuk, whose family fled Iraqi Kurdistan during the First Gulf War in 1990-991. They spent seven years in a UN Refugee Camp in what is Syrian Kurdistan under the brutal regime of Hafez al Assad when Kurds were being ‘Arabized’ and subjected to persecution. The family was admitted to the US as refugees. Abdulkader was educated in the US growing up in the Pacific Northwest. He holds an MA from the American University School of International Service. The Kurdistan Project that he heads at EMET is engaged in Congressional liaison and advocacy on Kurdish issues for all for Kurdish communities in Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. In the wake of President withdrawal, Abdulkadir has assisted the co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ms. Ilham Ahmed in conducting outreach to Congress explaining the necessity of protecting the northeastern autonomous region with valued assets: 80 plus percent of Syria energy fields and the country’s a major agricultural bread basket. Northeastern Syria, Rojava, as it is commonly called by Kurds, has a diverse population of more than 4 million composed of Kurds, Assyrian, Syriac and Armenian Christians, Yazidis and other minorities. It is reflective of the secular religiously tolerant Western-oriented values of the Kurdish community.

Abdulkader drew attention to the valued and valiant role of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Force, composed of Kurds, Arabs and Christians providing the ‘boots on the ground’ combating ISIS with assistance of US coalition air and special operations support. More than 10,000 Kurds and others in the SDF have lost their lives in the five-year war against ISIS that appears to be in final stages in Eastern Syria.

Abdulkader argued in favor of a Kurdish – controlled corridor on the Syrian border from the Euphrates to the Iraqi Kurdistan frontier. He says that any Turkish ‘safe zone’ should be on their side of the Frontier. Based on the Turkish and jihadist allies’ incursions in Jarablus and especially Afrin, there is clear evidence of ethnic cleansing and ‘turkification’ of the majority Kurds from the ancient enclave in northwest Syria. That is evident in the flying of Turkish flags. He argues for a potential mixed US, French and UK force presence in Syrian Kurdistan and a proposed no fly zone. The no-fly zone is modeled on the one the US and Allies established in 1992 following their withdrawal at the conclusion of the First Gulf War in 1991 and the late Saddam Hussein’s revenge onslaught against the Kurds. That enabled development of a successful Kurdish Regional Government in northern Iraq and Peshmerga defense force that gave sanctuary to Yazidis, Christians and other minorities fleeing ISIS.

Abdulkader suggested that a limited US force of less than 500 might be maintained in Syria to monitor Iranian and Shi’ite proxy Iraqi militias activities. Airbases in support of US forces in Syria and patrolling of the proposed no fly zone are available at the Al-Asad airbase in neighboring Anbar province, Iraq and the US funded $ 1 billion expansion of the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base air base in Jordan and others in the UAE. Abdulbaker argues this would avoid continued use of the NATO – base at Incirlik in Turkey.

Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant and Jerry Gordon interview former Chadian Lt. General Abakar M. Abdallah, a native of Darfur and Chairman of Sudan United Movement. He is the co-author of “Genocide in Sudan: Caliphate Threatens Africa and the World” with Gordon and colleague Deborah Martin. He is also an expert in counterterrorism and graduate of both the US Army Intelligence and Security School and the US Army War College. He was the founding commander of the Pan-Sahel Intelligence Unit based in Chad. Abdallah reveals the brutal extent of the suppression of daily protests in Khartoum and through major cities in Sudan by the Islamist militias of the 30-year reign of dictator President Omar al-Bashir who seized power in 1989 in a military coup. The causes Abdallah of the current mass protests were first the high price of bread, unemployment, and the denial of withdrawal of funds in banks. These protests have morphed into cries of freedom, justice and regime change. Bashir and leaders of the National Congress Parry/Muslim Brotherhood Regime was indicted in 2009 and 2010 for committing genocide in Darfur, through attacks by the Jihadist Rapid Support Force and Janjaweed militia. They and their families are recruited from Islamist terrorist groups in the Sahel region of Africa and the Middle East given arms, training and Sudan nationality. The genocide and ethnic cleansing directed at the indigenous African people in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile region. It is based on an Arab Coalition Plan that originated with the late Libyan dictator Gaddafi the purpose of which was to replace indigenous Africans with Arab tribes. Bashir gave shelter to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda and had a long-term relation with Shi’ite Iran that trained terrorist groups for Sudan. He transshipped weapons to Hamas and other terrorist groups. Abdallah estimated that in Darfur alone, more than 600,000 have been killed, 5 million internally displaced to UNAMID caps and several hundred thousand have fled to UNHCR camps in adjacent Chad and Central African Republic. Despite the lifting of the US economic sanctions of 1997 in October 2017 by President Trump, genocide in Sudan continues unabated said Abdallah. Abdallah is convinced that without help from the West – the US, France, and potentially Israel – Bashir will maintain his brutal control in Sudan, while sending a jihadist army to overthrow adjacent countries like Chad, Central African Republic and Libya. He suggests that these actions justify continuing Bashir’s Sudan as a US designated state supporter of terrorism. That drew the conversation to recent French attacks in northern Chad on convoys of weaponized pickup trucks of Chadian rebels of the Union of Resistance Forces backed, funded and equipped by Qatar and Bashir. It is illustrative of the Muslim Brotherhood alliance support, that includes Erdogan’s Turkey granted the right to develop a naval base on the Red Sea in Sudan. Abdallah discussed the recent rise of the Islamic State of West Africa Province in the Lake Chad area that has become a threat to Chad, Nigeria, Central African Republic and Cameroon. Hence, the tag line from the book “Genocide in Sudan- Caliphate threatens Africa and the World”.
