In other words, to speak in English in Washington to make the Americans happy is one thing; to do things in practice is something else entirely.
Egypt is urging Palestinian Authority PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to postpone elections while trying to convince the rival Hamas terrorist organization to drop demands for simultaneous presidential and legislative elections. Holding elections at this time, which already is four years after Abbas’ mandate has expired, would torpedo efforts for a unity government, sauces told the […]
The government and Hamas act like two lightweight boxers. A jab here, and fake there – until a “lucky” punchy Hamas gives the IDF an excuse to deliver a 1-2, but not a knockout.
Rockets continue to hit Israel from Gaza.
The IDF arrested on Monday a Palestinian Authority Arab from a family affiliated with Hamas after he was spotted taking pictures of a Jewish community located between Hevron and Arad, the Jewish Press has learned. The works and the moderate individuals exist but they are not given support, even in Western countries, nor do they have the resources to wage the battle.
Hamas is either playing war games again or again are losing control of rival terrorists. Either way, two rockets or mortar shells hit southern Israel, which probably will respond “proportionately.”
Even if Mashaal himself changes, Hamas will always remain the same Hamas.
After Israel threw out Jews from Gaza and gave greenhouses to the Palestinian Authority to prosper, the PA turned them into terror training camps. Now Hamas does the same at a World Heritage site.

Ironically, if Israel and the Palestinian Authority signed a peace agreement, the recruiting and encouragement of extremism in the region would be at far higher levels than it is now.
Kerry tried to follow Obama’s first-term act to “hit the ground running” in the Mideast but so far he is stuck in the sand. Fayyad’s resignation is another feather out of Kerry’s cap.

When Israel uses Western culture to win over Arabs, its collective cheek gets smacked. Example: After Netanyahu apologized for soldiers defending themselves, their IHH attackers said they will sue.

United Nations “peace process” coordinator Robert Serry underplayed Wednesday morning’s rocket attacks on southern Israel while wagging his finger against any retaliation, which was “proportional” by virtue of two bombing attacks that caused no casualties. While citing the Kassam rocket attacks on the town of Sderot as “violations of the ceasefire,” Serry added that they […]
The Palestinian Authority never misses an opportunity to incite terror. Firebomb attacks and prison riots followed the death of a cancer-stricken terrorist. The PA blames Israel, of course.

Obama has not abandoned the pro-Islamist policy that has created a far more dangerous security situation for Israel.
So the west will continue pretending that: the PA is a non-terrorist political group deserving of continuing U.S. aid, the Israeli government is intransigent and unwilling to make concessions, and it is Israel which bears all responsibility for ensuring that a Palestinian state - created in its own image - comes into existence as soon as possible.
Skeptics who did not believe that Obama would not come with a game plan to force Israel back into talks on PA terms may be right. The NY Times reports that Abbas will accept an “unannounced” settlement freeze.
This proposed legislation requires several things of the Palestinian Authority without which it will not receive certain U.S. benefits including significant financial aid and the privilege of being referred to as anything other than "the areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority."

Hamas broke the sound of silence in Ashkelon Tuesday morning and attacked the industrial with a missile at 7 a.m., exactly when thousands of people began arriving to work.
Palestinian Authority PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas may be shooting himself in the head – literally – by beating the drums for violent “resistance” riots. The latest excuse for protests against Israel was the death on Saturday of PA prisoner Arafat Jaradat, who PA official insists was tortured to death, while an autopsy in the presence […]

Palestinian Authority PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas reportedly is angry at Hamas for reportedly conducting indirect talks with Israel, but his ire may be an excuse to appease the Obama administration and stay clear of the terrorist organization. However, Abbas also wants something in return from the United States, mainly forcing Israel to accept PA demands […]

A general showed up to the checkpoint in full uniform driving a brand new, sparkling clean Mercedes.
Islamic Jihad, usually associated with Gaza and which makes Hamas look like marshmallows, is alive and well in Israel. So is the Shin Bet, which foiled a kidnap plot.

Now that the dust has settled in Gaza following Israel’s Pillar of Defense operation, it is easy yet again to feel sorry for the Palestinians. After all, as anyone already knows who clings desperately to The New York Times, the still-lingering images are so evidently palpable and painful. And the Arab suffering – the grievous suffering. Wasn't it disturbingly "one-sided" and “disproportionate”?
